had a decent 3 pass shave today. a few weepers but nothing serious. the Derby lathered up in no time and smells a lot like Arko. The brush was shedding but it is the original knot so im not surprised but I may get a new knot put in. The Cinnawood Boroka has a nice sweet scent that lasts for quite a while. My GF just came in the room and laughed at me for posting this lol (she doesn't understand it....not yet anyways). have a great shave and a great weekend!

thank you. I got the brush off craigslist for $8 and it was still in the box but it does shed so I have been thinking of getting a new knot for it.

 

What type of knot would you re knot with?

 

im not too sure. this would be my first one. the other 3 brushes I have I just use as is but this is the only one I have that sheds.

 

Would you post a picture of the handle?

When I heard Folsom Aftershave from Chicago IL I immediately thought of the TV commercial of Pace Picante sauce; so and so Salsa comes from New York City "NEW YORK CITY". Being from the Bay Area I think of Folsom CA, and Johnny Cash Folsom Prison and hard to place Folsom coming from Illinois.

I will admit that I do want to try their Shambala and Capri aftershaves but every time I hit their website they are always out so that tells me something.

Thank you and, as a matter of fact, it was raining today for the first in over 2 months which is extremely odd, here, and it as a blessing as everything is severely dry and we have actually been affected with the smoke being blown into the city from forest fires on Vancouver Island and to the north of the city. It has been the driest summer I have experienced here. The rain is such a welcome thing , at the moment.

 

We've had a similar weather pattern and forest fire issue here in Washington state as well. We'll need a ton of rain to help with the fires. I will say that the smoke from all of them sure has made for interesting sunsets here...there too I'd imagine.

AS: Obsession

Really surprised at the Obsession aftershave. It has the right amount of burn and leaves my face feeling incredible. Tighten up yet still feel moisturized well. Plus a smooth powdery feel of my skin on dry down. I don't think I would pay $50 for 4oz, though. I found a full bottle at yard sale for $5. Its super amazing stuff at a $5 price tag.

Exactly! Beautiful sunsets, but we've had smoke stuck in the city for 6 days and, thankfully, it has subsided!

 

Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap
Soap/cream- Barrister and Mann Lime/lavender/cedarwood shaving soap sample
Brush- Semogue 1470
Razor- Gillette Tech
Blade- Wilkinson sword
Post- Cold water rinse, Lucky tiger Bay rum aftershave lotion, L'oreal Hydra energetic aftershave balm and Nivea Sensitive cooling aftershave balm

My first time using my Tech, I have had it for a long time, but I have never tried it. It was okey, I need to figure it out a little bit more.

I used a wilkinson sword blade, it's a little dull on the first shave. I'll see how it is on shave nr 2&3. I got a pretty nice shave anyway.

I used up my BM sample with lime/lavender/cedar, the sample was almost used up, so in the pic you can see the Nivea shave cream. It was just A precaution, I didn't need it =) the next sample I'm using is Adagio, I have no idea what smell it is =P but it smells good.
