And I for being too buy to PIF. Don't see much difference from buying parts to manufacture. Neither are for personal use.

Cookies? If there was ever a reason to quit, that's it! I am tempted.

Some live by the letter of the law and justify their weakness. While the rest of us have NO BUY JULY because our spirit rules.

There's only one path as the moniker applies No Buy July. Only do or do not.
You're either committed or your strength was small.
As advice to those who make it and a warning to those who don't....

I'm getting the impression some of y'all are going a little nutso over this NBJ thing.

If you want to cave, do it.

I've inserted a few comments about the whole NBJ thing. And I've pointed out a couple ways to skirt the unofficial "rules" in an effort to be humorous. My apologies if I've seemed irreverent (or should I say irrelevant?). In the long run (although 1 month is not long) NBJ is good for me and probably is for those still in. It's not really anything particularly significant or profound to not buy anything. After all, it's not like we're being forced to do this. It's just a matter of whether we want to. I think that I like to make a big deal out of it for some sense of accomplishment.

Besides I thought I heard there was a big NBJ party after we're done.:happy108: :signs002:

That's for sure. This guy tried to hang on for too long, and he developed an unhealthy coping mechanism.

Day one of vacation in beautiful Mendocino. Wandered into an antique store and saw this... A gold Gillette slim in decent shape. Price was $23. Good thing it is NBJ, my wife reminded me...

Its amazing how much buying stuff for shaving creeps in without any intention of buying stuff. This weekend I have found awesome soap bowls, some very nice natural hones, six different Avon aftershaves that were full, including one with the matching talc powder. That's not even counting what I have seen on eBay and craigslist. I would say I need a new hobby, but I don't think I could afford another one right now. BTW- I'm still in!
