Picked up a sharpening steel today at a garage sale. The owners said they have the carving knife and fork too, but they are packed away at the moment. The steel is marked AJ JORDAN and CAST STEEL on one side, the other is marked SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. The tang has various British hallmarks and is marked STERLING. The handle is probably walrus tusk. It was made around the turn of the century. Photos don't do it justice...and I've decided not to turn the handle into a shave brush.
I received my first Fat Boy late Friday. The 1959 E3 felt grungy so I did some cleanup that night and a bit more the next morning. Pictures don’t really show much difference, but I’m very pleased. Had my first shave today using an Astra Superior Platinum blade. Really nice BBS results. Before cleaning: After cleaning: After the shave: A great BBS shave from a nice Fat Boy! I think I'll let him stay.
Great looking brush. Please post up your thoughts on the brush when used. If I am not mistaken you have a Non LE model as well. If so a comparison would be great.
Paladin PK-47 LE up for Wednesday's SOTD. Will compare to Butterscotch Marble PK-47 and Strawberry Amber Chief in upcoming shaves. Nice idea! First thing you notice is the different shapes of the knots. More to come.
I have an A J Jordan straight razor on the way. Researched it before I bought it and they have a very old, long history of quality products. Hope my razor is in as good a condition as your steel! Very nice find Sir!
Waiting on an Omega 10066 that is coming from West Coast Shaving this week along with the Feather SS straight handle that is due on Tuesday.

Today at Goodwill I saw a very recent glass OS bottle with a faux "old" look...the old style schooner in a washed out blue with "Established 1938" or something like that below it. I think it was Canadian and has a barcode on the bottom. Nearly full but for $2.99 I don't need it so I passed. Have never seen this bottle before and can't find it online - anyone know anything about it?
If it looked like this, it was some vintage Old Spice. Much better than current production stuff. Worth more than $2.99, I tell you.
