DIY aftershavers: Beware of peppercorns!

    Just thought I'd share... And warn you. I tried making my own aftershave. I aimed for a lime and peppercorn mix. I used half rubbing alcohol and half vodka as a base. Splashed some on after a few days of soaking, and it delivered a full on three minute burn... Why?? Because peppercorns are peppery! Sometimes you just have to put your hand on the stove to figure out it's hot.

    lol this is funny. did u use whole peppercorns or the essential oil?

    I used the real thing. I crushed about half a teaspoon and threw in a half teaspoon of whole ones.

    Might should have started with one or two whole peppercorns, uncrushed.

    I'm sure you've already come to that conclusion as well. :)

    Honestly? Like this. [​IMG] Next time I won't use rubbing alcohol at all. I also threw some cloves in there for kick. Hence the Mercurochrome comparison.
