I was pondering offering up About $6 per on that when you originally brought this up but couldn't get past his attitude. I don't need attitude, I have my own.
No it hasn't sold. He relisted it for $299.00 and now lowered it to $249.99. Not quite down to lowball wanna be player level yet, but getting there
And I don't see anything exciting in it. Somebody is selling their junk in a lot. Still more than I would pay. Especially since it is hard to tell which ones are incomplete or damaged. Besides, I'm not a wanna be player
Got another 'odd' reply back today from ANOTHER seller. Since this has now happened to me twice in just a month I can only assume that one of the following is true; a) I come across as offensive, b) The sellers are crude w/ zero social skills, and/or c) I'm overly sensitive. This time: I saw an ad on eBay. A razor and a stropper I wasn't interested in and, I feared, bumped the price up a bit. I send the seller this message: "Hi, would you consider selling just the razor? I don't personally need the stropper Kind regards" Reply from the seller comes in; "Please read my description " Ok, fair enough, maybe I missed something in the text but normally I don't expect a seller to be so proactive as to speak about splitting up a lot already in the ad. I go back to the ad. It's a very verbose ad with multiple sections. I honestly try and find where it mentions breaking up the lot but can't seem to find the right section so I send the seller back a question: "I did and could not, amongst all the text, find any answer to that particular question." Seller replies; "Really? Then you should get your eyes checked. I'll cut and paste it here, maybe that will help you!" The ad: “Our listings show a 5 day handling time but we USUALLY ship within 24 hours of payment. We do the best to describe our items & any flaws we see but almost everything we sell is vintage & used so expect some signs of use & wear as is common & expected with vintage used items. Be sure to read our description and terms. All measurements (if any are given) are approximate, if you need something to be an exact size then ask prior to bidding as all sales are final. Thank you IMPORTANT! - PLEASE READ!!! Pictures are also a big part of any description. Certain things that may not be said are shown and vice versa so be sure to not only read everything but look at my pictures and click on any image for a larger image. Item Description Shipping to the U.S. 48 contiguous states is $12.00. Be sure to read our shipping terms below prior to bidding. This listing is for a lot including an antique shaving razor in its original box and a vintage shaving strop also in its box. The razor is marked Gem on the razor itself, inside of the box, and snap on the box. It also comes with a razor blade marked Gem Razor NY USA. The strop is marked Twinplex Stroppers on the cardboard box and on the strop itself. Vintage of items may vary. All are being sold together as a lot-neither will be sold separately. They're in good condition, common box wear and tear as shown. You're getting them just as I did, sold strictly as is, shown & found. See photos. We MUST ship the item to the address paypal gives us, no exceptions. Any questions about shipping are to be made prior to bidding. Once the auction has ended is too late! We usually ship 1 to 3 days after payment has been made. We do our best to keep shipping as close to actual as possible. Shipping is NOT negotiable. Some items will require signature confirmation, if you're not home when delivery is attempted then your item will need to be picked up at your post office, if you feel that's an inconvenience for you or cannot do this then you should NOT bid! If an item is lost or damaged it MUST be handled by filing a claim through post office NOT ebay as it's a postal matter. We ship to the 50 United States only - NO U.S TERRITORIES, FPO. APO, ETC.. Shipping quotes that are stated in our descriptions are for the U.S 48 STATE ONLY. Certain items to Hawaii and Alaska are more so you need to email us first (prior to bidding) to know shipping costs to your states. Payment Terms! PAYPAL ONLY, from accounts register in the USA and drawn on U.S. banks - no other forms of payment are accepted. If you use echeck payments through paypal (prefer that you didn't) then understand - it takes longer to complete and will delay shipping until notified by paypal that it is okay to do so. Payments are due within two days, it really shouldn't take any longer than that.Thank you. We do the very best to describe our items as accurately as possible. Almost all of what we sell are used vintage items so please don't expect new unless stated as such. Items sold as is and found - no returns or refunds unless there's been a major oversight on our part.Thank you ===============================================================================================================
His response was a bit rude. However his auction does state, "All are being sold together as a lot-neither will be sold separately." So your initial query about splitting the items no doubt rankled him. Still, he could have handled his response about the 'eyes being checked' differently. I think some vendors are just irritable when dealing with anonymous inquiries.
Yeah I must have completely missed that part due to the lack of formatting in the text so part of the blame does indeed fall on me.
My vote is that it's them, not you. As much as he bolds/all caps and puts emphasis on his terms and conditions, I'd say "he's better than all of us and knows it".
Oh btw, the ad contains the rather unusual Open Comb Gillette Damaskeen razor. Personally, I won't be bidding as I have an appointment with my optician.
I was going to add.... He should put in the disclosure, if you want it, bid on it. If not, don't ask me any questions.
