I picked one up in a lot purchase last month, and I came to the same conclusion; it's only slightly milder than a regular flare tip. In fact, it's rapidly becoming one of my favorite shavers. Something to do with the light handle, heavy head combo makes it an outstanding razor, balance wise.

I could drink mojitos and daiquiris (the real ones, not the frozen banana things) everyday. Sit on the porch and contemplate Papa Hemmigway.

It has been a couple weeks and the antique store had a sign out front the other day, "new inventory", so I stopped in today.
No date codes on either one. And the plating on the TTO is not so good.

    Edit:
I just noticed while cleaning, that this is not the notch bar like all my others. :)
Is this a pre'47 Aristocrat that everyone talks about?

Looks like a 51 but the blade bank looks wrong. If you want to make it a full set, look at the one at Mr Razor, its white/cream. But thats a beautiful piece you have there!

    I don't think it's a 1951.

    There is no date code.
Also 'PACKAGE' is stamped on the tray.

    My guess is 1950

Two big blades on their way….
(Left)A late-19th century George Wostenholm & Son 'IXL' straight razor with scalloped spine, hollow notch nose and nearly 1" wide blade.
(Both original scales and blade appear intact. Should restore and polish up beautifully....
A Frederick Fenney Tally-Ho (1833-1852), smiling 7/8 wedge with hollow notch tip. Big hunk of steel.
Small nick on the edge should come out easy enough. Horn scales look to be original and in decent shape.

The postman delivered my Schick Type G 3 today.....I gave it a wee polish with toothpaste and it came up lovely.....Toothpaste is a great polish for Gold Plated Razors....Its a gentle cutting paste....Shame about the enamel on your teeth though....The Gold Plated Schick Type G3 was a 1947 Christmas Special Edition Model....I also have a Solid 14 Karat Gold Handled Schick Type G 2 that was a 1946 Christmas Special Edition Model......The Schick Type G 2 1946 Christmas Special Edition Model is by far the Classiest of the two....I wanted the Schick Type G 3 to complete my Schick G Type Collection.....Both of the Schick Types G2 & G3 Models are quite rare.....
This one polished up really well and I am over the moon in completing my Schick G Type Collection....:chores016:

From my Dad...he's approaching 80 and doesn't get around too well so he's giving up auction hounding. I think he's giving up on ebay, too.

The black Caravelle watch, I bought for him back when I got out of the Navy in very early '90s. It's a cheapie but danged if the thing still ain't running like a top. He's worn it all these years but I suspect can't wear it anymore, or the Citizen dive-ish watch he also wore. The Ballograf pen/pencil set is interesting, never heard of that company before. Travel Tech has never been used. Already put one Super Speed in the travel box; these are what's left. The Super is a '75; I think I'll put it back for my girls.

You wouldn't happen to have a K4 in that lot of superspeeds would you? I have a '66, but I'd like one in my birth year/ quarter.
