1. Looks like a nice deep bowl. How do you like the soap?
  2. Not buying the @crackstar part. Nice try.;)
  3. I've noticed number of members using the Gillette 7 O'clock blades. How are they different from the Gillette Platinum? What would they compare with?

  4. I am unsure of the actual difference, but seem like they might be similar. They are quite smooth, and perform as good as anything I have tried. These blues from Russia may not be in current production, also a bit of a debate about that, though they are also made in India.

Skipped another day yesterday. I am on vacation, and it is difficult to get myself to shave every day. A good shave this evening, though. Hope everyone is having a good week.
  7. It's a very nice bay rum to me. It's heavy on the cinnamon and I get quite a bit of vanilla. It doesn't burn as much as other bay rums to me which actually surprises me. Most bay runs hang around on me all day but this one doesn't for some reason. I wish it did tho cause the smell is fantastic. My father also has a bottle and his last forever on his skin. It's a shame!! That's why it never gets used...
  8. The verdict is still out. I will need a few more days of testing it.

Not a bad shave but not the greatest. No nicks but a few areas of irritation. Blade seemed smooth as it went along face so probably all technique. Loved the soap with the M-Bomb. Officially addicted to menthol chill!!!

  14. Thanks for the feedback.

I agree the bourbon and vanilla give this bay rum variety a unique but quite good aroma. I emailed them for the fourth time and still awaiting a reply. Last one I sent to them was beginning of June and they stated end of month available on their website but seven weeks later still has not shown up on their site.

Island climate, island time, island life all deserves a shave soap to compliment it.

So after my island siesta, I break out my sample puck of Island Man soap (Stirling) and ready for my 3 pm shave.

Haven't used it before but was most pleasantly surprised by the scent when I opened it up - so I just rubbed it on my face and loaded some up on the new brush. Will take a bit to get used to developing a lather with the shorter, smaller Omega beehive brush, but I was able to work up a decent later and off I went.

Shave time begins with a GSB blade popping out first from my travel kit and into the Aristocrat. (Neal this is a fine razor!)

Though I seem to be more focused on the lather-making, this razor/blade combo blew through the 2+days of stubble and 3 passes later I am all cleaned up and just as smooth as can be.

A splash of TSD YingYang seems to work great with the soap.

I'm off to enjoy the late-afternoon sun!

    Ahoy!
