I spent a good part of the morning at Lowe's, picking out a new kitchen faucet, to replace a leaky one. The poor hubby gets the privilege of installing it as A) my handiness does not extend to plumbing and B) he delined my offer to hire a plumber.
15 more "likes" needed to match my post count and subtle doesn't seem to be working. So, I guess I'll have to dance for them. And, here I thought my "Magic Mike" days were over. /sigh Supply your own "club" music if you wish.
Yesterday I drove from Portland to Seattle to visit my friend's mother and go have dinner with my sister. Oddly, I left Portland at 11a, and got home at 11p. Didn't plan that at all.
Had my yearly physical yesterday..... Everything went well. I did get a child's flu shot as an added protection. Went to lunch with the wife, had a good time.
Getting toasty today. I'm inside an air-conditioned office in Danville, but my oldest son works outdoors nearby in Livermore....
The new faucet is in & hubby is really tired. I can't blame him. So we will relax in the house & I will go for some archery practice this evening, after dinner.
Today is our 12 year wedding anniversary. It feels as this time 12 years ago I was getting married in Venice and was having the greatest day of my life. We then Honeymooned in Verona, The Maldives and then New York. Now life is very different and I can't even afford the airfare to Venice. But different isn't always bad. I have a good life and I will always have that great wedding to look back on. And more importantly I still have the wonderful woman who agreed to marry me all those years ago.
I would kill for it to be under 80 degrees out. On a lighter note my day is going well. Had my oil change done. Got some bad news about my car, but nothing terribly concerning. Now, I am prepping for my meetings tonight, and hoping for success.
90* when we walked the golf course this morning. Didn't play well, but at my age walking the course is still great. Saw lots of wild life.
After not posting for a few days, my adventure continues. My wonder wife brought home an older dog of one of her patients who was dying and did not want his dog to be put down as he had no family. He is a Boston Terrier-Chihuahua mix, who has adapted to our crazy house very well. The other dog who is 70+ lbs has taken a liking to him, as has the lazy cat. I don't think he has been around a lot of little children, but he has taken a liking to my youngest daughter (4). The wife wants to hold him in her lap, but he almost has nothing to do with her, he would rather sit in my lap with the big dog...witch just burns her hide, but she still loves him. I cant blame her for what she did, I would have done the same thing. So often our patients have little or no family and have pets that must go to a pound or be put to sleep. As health care providers we have to remember our patients are never alone and we always have more than one patient. Whether its family or furbabies, they need support too. The shaving is going well. My technique is improving and my den is growing. I am looking at posting what I have so far, but am waiting on my orders to arrive. I think I have been bitten by the A/S AD bug. Well for the rest of today I have to study for my final exam, with the new dog in my lap, as my wife gives me the LOOK. Stay safe, stay cool, and shave on.
Hope you weren't trying to shave when it hit, that could have been interesting. Glad everything and everyone is ok.
