Good morning! I have family in town and will be scarce for a couple of days. I will be sticking to my rule, and will post late nights. Have a great weekend! ☺
Day 3 of 7 Leisurely morning shave using the FEON #172 for the third consecutive day. This morning's lather (using another 'Route 66' shave soap handcrafted by TSD's own Salty Belle. This is the third puck of her's I've had the pleasure of using. Her croap was/is an outstanding product!) was thick, slick and went on like slippery enamel—a perfect base for a close, clean shave with this fine J-West razor. Three-passes, plus touch-up…one small nick on the underside of my jaw…finished with the bracing 'Snake Bite.' Overall a DFS! Certain straight razors are easy to maneuver about the face and this J-West model certainly qualifies. Makes me wish I had learned to SR-shave on an easy razor such as this with a gentle, muted square point!
30 day Focus - Day 7 MDC Lavender Face Lathered Rapira Platinum Lux Blade (Day 1 on blade, Day 1 on Rapira Platinum Lux) Slim Adjustable set to 8 3 passes I received a slightly closer shave with the Rapira Platinum Lux than I was receiving with the Sputnik.
Stick with it. There is a learning curve but it's not a steep as you may think. Slow and steady is the way to go for now. As you have already found, it's easy to get complacent and that's when it bites. I had the same problem initially, but now I get better shaves than any DE.
LMAO. That's like saying the car you're trying to sell in just fine except for the big dent in the fender.
Ha, this made me remember when I was a kid my grandmother used to listen to one of those local radio call-in swap shop programs. A guy called to sell a car and actually said, It ain't got no motor but other than that it runs great!
AUGUST FOCUS" 1958 EXECUTIVE Friday the Exec on 6 for a second day and it was a really nice shave. Very few extra strokes for a 2-pass DFS. Best setting so far. Saturday I moved the setting to 7. What a noticeable difference! Right away I knew I had to be careful and watch my technique and angle. All was going well until my darling wife came home, rushed into the bathroom, wrapped her arms around my waist and innocently said,"Hi honey, I'm home!". That's when the bloodshed started. Never before have I had to get out the styptic before I got done shaving. I finished up the shave with a nice 1" slice half way between my chin and my lower lip. Boy is that sore! I don't know what my opinion of 7 is, my brain was a bit fogged afterwards. If she wasn't so cute, I might have been mad.
Don't give up Mr.C, we're all right behind you with me at the front! Don't give up, we're here for you brother thru thick and thin! (btw, just in case you do give up, that line of us right behind you is also the line to pick up that razor if you fail miserably and toss it aside. Told you we were here for you no matter what! Just what friends are for, right?!!)
Honorable man ??! Why I resemble that remark! My name is "F" ?!! Why sir, you cut me to the quick. Of course you know this means war! (just don't turn out like this Chicolini guy...)
Oh, Mr. Firefly, don't be mad at me. I was trying to be nice. While I know "Duck Soup", I'm not that familiar with it.
Well if your excuse is good enough for you, then it's good enough for me. I see we have much in common Mr.WC!
