    SATURDAY
Leisurely morning shave using the FEON for the third consecutive day.
This morning's lather was thick, slick and went on like slippery enamel—a perfect base for a close, clean shave with this fine J-West razor.
Three-passes, plus touch-up…one small nick…finished with the bracing 'Snake Bite.' Overall a DFS!
    Have a great weekend, all!

The Arko is the soap stick, and the tube Proraso. I'm very partial to these two anyway but of all the combinations I've tried, this one is the most cushioning whilst still maintaining good lubrication.
Using my big boar brush, I give it a quick flick to take plenty of water out. If I start out with the brush too wet, it just billows everywhere, which doesn't suit my brush. It may of course be much different with badger.
Generally I would get five shaves out of the GEMs too but I think my beard has been softer recently, but my "Kyle's Method" preparation does wonders for blade performance anyway.
The 1914 will quickly show any blade issues much quicker than a 1912 or Clog Pruf will.

Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice (early glass Mug 06) 1961 - 1964 First Mug with a taper last without a lip on top
Cream/soap: Pre de Provence Shea Butter
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1973 glass cologne Stopper #4

Nice easygoing shave today. Sometimes I think you need a Vacation after your Vacation. Whipped up the PdP with the Silvertip. I really like this brush. Another day with the FB, Ahhhh. It's weight does all the work and it sings a nice toon with a Feather blade. WTG XTG on my face and neck on 5. ATG on my neck on 3. Nice and slick and with my FB on 3 for my neck I can buff a little for a DFS. Great cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB. After cleanup some Vintage Old Spice from 1973. Have a good one y'all. That Gillette Fat Boy is a smooth operator.....

    Razor 1958 Executive (7)
    Blade Astra SP (1)
    Soap Maggard London Barbershop

Saturday I moved the setting on the Exec to 7. What a difference from the lower settings I'm used to. Right away I knew I had to be careful and watch my technique and angle. I'm not too sure about the protection of this Maggard soap, it seems to disappear once the razor has passed, no residual sickness.

All was going well until my darling wife came home, rushed into the bathroom, wrapped her arms around my waist and innocently said,"Hi honey, I'm home!". That's when the bloodshed started. I finished up the shave with a nice 1" slice half way between my chin and my lower lip. Boy is that sore! If she wasn't so cute, I might have been mad.[IMG]

    August 9 Plans

    Gillette Slim G3 (3)
    Feather blade (1)
    Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic
    Trumper's Coconut cream
    Two passes
    Unrefined shea butter

This will be the last shave of the month with the Slim on 3. I've had some enjoyable shaves at this setting. The shave performance is similar to my Muhle R89. I learned this week (from my friends here) that my shaves are better and more relaxing if I shut off the running water and listen to the blade cutting the whiskers.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

    Cream: Lea Classic
    Bowl: Fendrihan
    A/S: Fine American Blend

Moved the Executive to #7 and didn't notice any difference from yesterday's #6. Had a DFS with 3 passes tonight. Fine American Blend is a very good A/S.

How low where before going to #7. I moved up from #6 and didn't notice any difference to my knowledge at all. Might have gone a little slower.

I know the Feather razors are expensive, do you think they are much better than less costly razors? I like your picture and the way you displayed your gear.:happy088::happy088: Is the Bay Rum bottle glass?

Sunday's plans will be the following:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Personna day 6
Stirling Black Ice SS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Gold Bond Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

Hey, I don't see the Black Ice soap on Rod's website lately and I sure hope he didn't discontinue it because I love it so much. It has a wonderful black liquorice scent with awesome lather and although it's nowhere nearly as frigid as its cousin, which is the Glacial Obsidian soap it's still got a most pleasant cooling effect along with the brilliant skincare which is so characteristic of the Stirling soaps. The Gold Bond continues the cooling and soothing, and the Aqua Velva completes the job perfectly. I love the Chabrawichi 555 cologne from Egypt - its scent is a combination of lemon and lavender. I remember buying it in Cairo and Alexandria for under a dollar when the wife and I were vacationing in Egypt a while back. ;) :D
