Got a bottle of the Veg

    I personally like the Veg but have stayed away from it. I think it's a perfect 50/50 situation where half the people smelling you in a day are gonna think you smell good and the other half will shun you and throw readily available cabbage at you because you smell like said cat piss. I usually just go with Fine A/S.

    It's an apocryphal story but Pinaud was the court perfumer to Napoleon III. The Veg was the first aftershave they made and it was commissioned especially for the Hungarian Calvary. Of course that may be advertising hype, no one really knows for sure.

    I always figured it was a traitor in the ranks that commissioned it. He was probably told by his superiors in the enemy camp to try and come up with a way we can know exactly where they are at all times.

    Every time I read a thread about lilac vegetal I get a deep itch to buy a bottle... I resist long enough for it to pass but some day it will catch me off guard when my resolve is low and then I will know for sure if I am one of the chosen or not. For now I'll just wonder

    Decant it into glass and let it sit for a week. Then try again without smelling the bottle first. It mellows out a ton. It's a personal fave.
