For $8.99 w/ free shipping it was too hard to resist bringing this little bugger home.... It just miiiiight need a new knot... Guess my only two questions are; 1) What size of a knot it will end up taking, and 2) If it's an Erskine, Ever Ready...or something else.
In my fever haze I bought an unopened/boxed bottle of Avon Wild Country Aftershave $3.99 free shipping. And in this same condition I bought a 5 ounce bottle Men's Choice Brisk, $4.49 free shipping I need to stay off the bay when I have a fever.
Also picked up this little Maw of London brush and canister that I'm stealing from the UK to bring here to the US
Thanks to the enabling of @Darkbulb I pulled the trigger on a nice Russian razor. Nice meaning it's a pretty rare find, not necessarily that it will shave nice. It is a Soviet era razor after all. The Mladost 2 - currently on a goat cart out of Get a nice horse knot in there, some polish for the wood and shine up the metal. Great piece!
It shipped this morning....a Russian gem that @Darkbulb helped enable. Should be on a cart behind a goat leaving Bulgaria.
Interesting history behind this one ... http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/maw-of-london-brush.46429/#post-873567
I used my refund from ebay from my item that was bent and said it wasn't to pick up another razor!! I don't know much about it but I'll be hunting info after the family gets in bed tonight.
Found it. By my best guess its a 20's Gillette Milady Decolletee. Its not in terrible shape either I looked closer at the pictures on this one and I don't see any bent teeth like I saw after I went back and zoomed the pics on the last one after I got it here and saw them.
It is surprisingly a very good performer. It was my very first shave soap, I had trouble at first, but when I figured it out, I can't get a bad lather
Picked up my second Hardright brush. Made an offer on eBay that was accepted! It looks practically brand new (aside from the case). The first one I got was my very first vintage brush purchase. Stiffest backbone of any boar brush I've ever used, and has never bloomed, leaving me to think that it must be set very deeply indeed. I wonder if this one will have as dense a knot?
