Trumper's for its performance Truefitt for its range of scents Taylors for the price. :ashamed001 --Mark
I'm more of a soap guy, but I'd go with T&H for creams. I find the Trumpers a bit on the dense side. I like this when using a DE, but not when using a straight - which is 99.9% of the time. I've only had one tube of TOBS and the cream was really runny - not that I won't try another. The two T&H creams I have are outta this world. YMMV Jordan
i have had hit and miss success with the quality from the trumper's creams. one pot was great - the other 2 not so much. the good one was dense and the poor ones were VERY runny...kinda like yogurt. the T&H rose i purchased sometime last year was far too stiff - almost hard. i scrapped down a bit and it was no better. i returned the tub to T&H chicago and the second was worse. i stopped by a store in madison, wiscosnin to sample some taylors. while i enjoyed the scents, the consistency was similar to cool whip. i picked up some avocado but no matter what i did with it, it was still to airy. i passed that on to my son who i think used it without a brush. i am strictly a soap guy now but if pressed i would go with trumper's. s~s
Sounds like you got hit with the Creighton's bug SS. I hear it is fixed, but some bad stock is still out there. I recently got a pot of Violet and Rose which are AMAZING and they are the 'new new' stuff. :rofl
I was just thinking of the "big three". There are tons of other creams out there, many of which are superior to the t's. That is an interesting point though. Anybody know exactly what the list of creighton's creams are?
Exactly. If you hit a runny, or airy tub of any of these, you found the questionable stock. Don't let that experience totally rule them out for you. A hard cream is mot likely just old. Ya know, this sure would be easier if we could get "born on" dates. :ashamed001
The best if used by date is a little more tricky since well kept creams and soaps last a LONG LONG time, I have read of people keeping them for 5+ years easy. The made on date would be much more useful, since no matter what the package says, I know Skin Food (since I know for a fact it does say 12 month shelf life on the label) will last a LONG longer than 12 months. Sort of like Honey actually. I picked up a bottle of premium Honey the other day and saw a 'best by' date. I laughed, since Honey does not expire. Heck even bottled water has an expiry date.. explain that one to me.
I hadn't tried any of the Trumper's range except for the Coral Skin Food until I ordered a sample pack from them, but I like their creams about the best for scent and lather. I like T&H, but like Bobby, I wish they had other less cologny scents.
Out of the ones I've tried, I like: Trumpers Taylors T&H Trumpers seems t be the most consistent out of the creams I have...but Taylors is a close 2nd...the T&H creams I have tried are Ok, I like the scents better than there performance.
It wasn't included but I would've put Harris first as well. That Lavender scent is the kind of stuff the brings families together.
Yeah, they're in their own little world. Cute sig, Telly. Shall we discourse on the merits of Muppet Babies vs. Fraggle Rock? Sounds like it could be fun!
