  1. You know....I am 'E'less......anybody got an E-type they might be willing to trade for something....I've got a nice Feather Weight or HFT (G-bar) or a replated GEM1912 short travel type , that I'd be willing to trade for a nice Schick E-type......

  7. Check out this one:

It belonged to my Dad. He shaved with it. He also made the handle for it. He gave it to my younger brother, but he never used it and graciously offered it to me. I am glad to have it in my collection. It is an E3 with new handle.

  8. As a SE rookie I just learned how to open the injector up for cleaning! Thanks!

  9. If you try to open one that is not made to open you can damage the spring. It is possible to take off one of the prongs and the spring will move to the side. I did this with one of my E3s, but I don't think I would do it again.

  10. The Schick Type E 1 and the early Type E 2s opened for cleaning.....There were 3 types of E2 s however, the second edition was the same as the first one with an off centred spring and it did not open .....The third edition was called the 1941 Type E 2 that had the first centred spring and it also didn't open....All the Type E 2 s had one thing in common and that was these were a smooth comb design ......The E Type 3 was the first model with a ridged comb design and the Type E 4 had no lugs on the side of the spring the same as the later Type G 1....;)
In actual fact there was no Type G 1 as it was a Clone of the earlier Canadian E Types 4 with a seamed handle ...:chores016:

  12. Thats priceless.....A razor can be like a time machine....and it can cause us to bond with those we love who used the same.....Congratulations on having your Pop's.....and it's so truely unique and shows how much he cared for it....
  13. Coolness has been achieved....
As you know I have been looking for an Injector that would shave as close an efficiently as my ER 1914 or GEM OCMM....
Well, Jayaruh has come to the rescue and we made a swap....I now have a lovely Schick E2 which looks and shave wonderfully. And it is as aggressive as my OCMM and maybe even smoother....Yay!

Jayaruh is a Gentleman and a Scholar, but also apparently seems to be a Philanthropist, as he included a $1,000,000 Dollar bill....I woke up this morning, a normal cat, and now I own a Schick E2 and am a Millionare....

My wife was watching me open the package and was so delighted, she is now out with the $1,000,000 bill desparately looking for a merchant to cash it.....lol

  14. Aye glad you liked the Type E 2....The E 3 & E 4 were a bit milder in my experience......Some of the Canadian E Types were far more aggressive than any of the USA made E Types....I have a Black Handled Canadian E Type that cut me to pieces the first time I used it....The PAL Injectors are aggressive shavers as well....They don't get enough air time on Forums for some unknown reason that beats me.....:chores016:

  15. Here she is my friends.....My new Schick E2, compliments of Jayurah
    image.jpg

Todays shave was with Williams Mug Soap, which I used as a shave stick and face-lathered with my Omega 10029 Baby-pro boar....The lather was the bomb. I popped a brand new Long's Drugs/Personna injector blade in and let the festivities begin....

This is the injector that I've been looking for. I does give the ER 1914, GEM OCMM, and ER 1924 a run for their money....I'll need a little more bonding time, but if my first impressions are accurate.....This may be my new "rave-fave"...

I'll keep you notified, as there will be extensive testing......
    Thanks Jayurah!

  16. Lovely example Sir....Those NOS Personna injector blades from Longs Drugstore are nice blades.....Got a wee stash of them....:chores016:

  19. Injector IIs rock....kind of makes your injector like a Trac II, only better because it's a Schick and has a certain inherant shaving dynamic that defys definition....I believe they only work in L types or later....Does anyone want to corraborate this? The L's or later part...not the part about Schicks having superior shaving prowess, thats a given.....}8^))
