Thank goodness I have plenty of Klar Kabinett soap. I still wish that it wasn't discontinued.

 

Its a great soap. But Dusy Kabinett is still being made in German, just as good if not better.

today's shave was fantastic. new toys arrived, just had to try the stahly. WOW, what a comfortable razor. this ought to be a favorite of many(especially head shavers). the shave was great, three passes left me smooth and very comfy. can't wait to try its original handle. finished with os(red peg).

Yesterday's shave was superb and today's feels the same.

I went with Rhapsody and Russe today because it is one of my favorite combinations. I also dialed down the Fatboy to see if I can get the same high quality shave as I get when I set it on nine. So, I set it at seven for the first two passes, then five for the last. I am not impressed with the results, though I had a drama free shave, I had to make way more touch ups. At lower and middle settings, the Fatboy is not much different from any other razor, I think it really shines at higher settings. I'll still try different combinations, but so far 9-7-7 works the best for me.
My neck was still a little tender from yesterday, so I used Mint Zinger to calm down and Russe as cologne, to avoid alcohol on my neck.

Simpson Wee Scot......I always thought that this brush was more of a novelty than a real working brush,I was wrong.This little brush lathers like crazy,I've been getting more than enough lather to do my standard 2 pass face,1 pass dome and I prolly could get one more pass out of it if I wanted.The only cons are if you have large hands or bowl lather the Wee Scot may not be for you.I'm a face latherer so far it's done great with every soap I've thrown at it,next time up I'll try a crème and see how it does.

Razor: Muhle R41 (2013), Filarmonica Doble Temple straight razor
Blade: Astra SP (5)
Brush: Col Conk Pure Badger
Soap: Pheonix Artisan Accoutrements - Honey Suckle
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave
Cologne: Midnight In Paris

Happy Thursday! The Col Conk brush whipped up the Honey Suckle soap into a nice lather. The R41 and the Fily did a great job knocking down the stubble. The AV and the Midnight In Paris were a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

My normal difficulties in lathering Stirling were somewhat compounded by the fact that the soap is diminished such that it's a crescent shape in its tin, so loading the brush was a different experience. As before, using the bloom water seemed to help tremendously in getting the initial lather going, and I got two comfortable passes before recognizing that I'd need to reload the brush for enough lather for a 3rd. Rather than doing so, I settled for a 2-pass, CCS.
