I got out sniped on this lovely so-called Schick "L5" Injector. This is the famous "Paul Revere" model, made by International Silver, and only available through a mail in program during the Bicentennial.
Had $28 on this lovely example of an Everready 1000. It ended up going for $76.51. Crazy. Apparently I misjudged the value of this guy.
Vintage Shaving Brushes have really gone up in price over the last few years. That is a nice specimen though!
Ironic, as knots for re-knotting brushes have only been commonly available in the last few years. I wonder if the two might be related? I expect high prices on premium brushes, but Everready? I expected that one to max out at maybe $45-50.
They are indeed! I been doing this around 4 years and the more brushes are restored and shown, the more the prices have gone up. Sellers have picked up on this as well in the last year especially.
I got sniped on this one today. Was 3 seconds from a super cheap victory. http://m.ebay.com/itm/181830363412?...&srcrot=e11001.m43.l1123&rvr_id=0&_mwBanner=1
Such creative excuses! I wasn't asking for everything you guys have ever lost, just a "highlight of the week' kind of thing. ...actually, considering the context, "lowlight of the week" would be more accurate.
I got outbid one time on a poorly listed Double Ring. I made up for it this month by finally getting one
Creative excuses is my thing! I am too busy researching to come up with antidotes of my losses! Actually I did not lose a bid this week. I got what I wanted. More to come later.
I've pretty much quit bidding, actually. Last thing was a shabby red tip I got beat out on, before my dad hooked me up with one. I really don't even browse anymore.
I was super upset about my last loss. I was literally counting down the seconds and got the outbid notice.
