you could add a little bit of shaving cream, or another soap so you could get the good performance and it would have a better scent.

SHAVE OF THE DAY TOBACCO TUESDAY

    sotd38.jpg

    PRE SHAVE: MUSGO REAL OAKMOSS
    RAZOR: GILLETTE TECH/PROBAK
    BLADE: GILLETTE 7OCLOCK YELLOW
    BRUSH: OMEGA S SYNTHETIC
    SOAP: SOAP SMOOTH COGNAC
POST: (ICED) MASTERS BAY RUM/ BURTS BEES BAY RUM BALM

I have learned my lesson with Soap Smooth. This is the second one that has burned my face and I usually don't have this kind of problem. I scooped a small piece out with a butter knife and bowled lathered. It made an awesome lather and has a wonderful tobacco scent but there are too many other great soaps in my den that don't irritate my face for me to be messing around with this soap. This is sad to say because both the scent and performance are great. Other than the burning sensation the shave went quite well and was very smooth. I'm really starting to like these blades which is good. Have a great day and a great shave!

    Shave of the evening

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras bath soap Sandalwood
    Soap/cream- Barrister and Mann Adagio
    Brush- Turkish no6 boar
Razor- WEBER polished head stainless steel
    Blade- Yellow Gillette 7 o'clock
Post- Cold water rinse, Kueshi Revitalizing Face Toner and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

Tried a new post shave today. My girlfriend has this very nice smelling and calming face toner. It was nice, stung a liiittle but it was very calming. Evening shave so no strong scents.

The 7 o'clock was a nice blade. Not as good as Astra SP, personna or GSB. But to be fair my skin wasn't really in good shape before the shave. I need to shave with it again to determine if it's a good blade for me =)

I do like it. it is very much like pinaud. my only complaint is, like most inexpensive aftershaves, the scents do not last more than anhour or so. maybe a little longer.
the good thing about 1800 line is you get a bunch for little money. also, Crusellas&co offer several different scents. I've got rose, tobacco, rue water, paradise and orange.
the web site said they have a sandalwood. I saw that at a local shop( now closed) but it was called sandalo, and ignorant me didn't put two and two together.
the last thing I like about it is they're based in Miami. I always like to promote Florida based companies.

    Old Spice Cologne

Since Friday of last week I've been shaving with practically the same set-up because for one thing, I have a BIG Glacial shipment in transit to me and also because the weather has turned the city of Montreal and the province of Quebec (most of it, anyway) into an inferno with terrible heat and humidity. This set-up ensures great comfort during a shave - the Glacial Spearmint soap has such a beautiful scent which fills the bathroom and gives dynamite lather with a menthol freeze which pulverizes the face immediately. The post-shave feeling from this soap is absolutely perfect. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel are such a frigid and delightful way to finish off a shave. I cannot wait to get my back-ups! ;) :D

The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #17 boar brush. Two passes with my Gem 1912 razor and a Treet Super SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thanks, I have considered that. But I have more or less avoided superlathering on soaps that performs well.
But it might be interesting to mix it in with a cream to improve/conceal the scent, because I have not considered that.
Or perhaps mix it in with the blue proraso. That one has the same mouldy scent profile and would probably make an interesting experiment :)

yea there are quite a few people around here that do that to improve the scent or performance of the lather. im not sure if mixing it with another moldy scent would be wise. it may smell like 100 year old cheese or something even worse lol

Lol, yes. It would not be the "cleverest" thing I have done, but it might be fun nonetheless :)
I also have a sample of the M-bomb, and I guess that this might be a better solution. I haven't tried it before, but if it could enhance both the chill effect and maybe the menthol smell, I suspect that it would make this into a usable alternative for Menthol Mondays
