Razor: Gillette Fat Boy (1961)(7) Blade: Gillette Platinum (5) Brush: Fendrihen Silver Tip Badger Black Faux Ebony Handle 22/49 Cream: Proraso Bowl: Yokohama Studio (Hand Painted) (gift from my Wife) A/S: Lucky Tiger Day 21 Moving the FB to #7 made a huge difference in my shave this evening. Probably the best shave I've ever had. (BBS) The Fendrihen brush is a great brush and with the Proraso cream I had a outstanding lather. Lucky Tiger is a excellent A/S. This Adjustable August has taught me much about adjustable razors, not to mention reading everyone's post in the August Focus team. Have a great night.
Take care of that back. I had to have surgery last November to remove part of a disc due to all the damage I had done. Now, I am struggling to get SWMBO agreeable to me playing golf again.
Sure was fun. Made a lot of shots Been struggling lately, but Thursday made up for the hard work. THANKS!
Shoulder was good enough to shave today. No shower prior, but it worked well anyhow. Started with the usual Proraso preshave, after a nice hot water splash. Used the TSD sample I have bombed, Did a 2 pass xtg / atg shave with the Slim on 6, followed by more Proraso green preshave as a balm then a generous splash of Gabel's Lime, bombed. The Slim on 6 was a more comfortable shave than the past couple shaves, probably because it was a couple days growth. So I am going to stick with 5 for every day and 6 if I miss a day. The rest of this month's focus will be on getting the 2 pass shave as smooth as possible with fewer touchups. Oh, nice dfs today, and although I didn't do any touchups, even hours after my trouble spots (the jaw right below the ear and the very bottom of my beard on the neck) feel smooth.
August Focus - Slim and Feather AC August 21 Razor - 1964 Slim (J1) Blade - (2) Brush - Vie Long 12601 Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold splash, Alum, The Veg Time to move the Slim to 7 for the Sharp Star. Yesterday's start with 5 was a great shave. Will it be a positive or negative move up? Layed down the Fat with the Vie Long 12601. My smaller horse so it's the pony. I guess this soap/brush combo should be called the Fat Pony. A great lather with not too much effort to be honest. The pony seems to really dig in well and get a great load for the face lather. After that it's all just paint and swirl to get a thick cushion of slick. First pass WTG was smooth but more feedback than yesterday as expected. Felt great though with no cuts/nicks etc. Very nice overall feel and result. Second lather, second pass XTG and my face was done with just a couple of minor touchups. Finished with a third pass touchup on the neck and I was solidly DFS nearing BBS. This blade likes it rougher so 7 was a good move. Tomorrow we'll crank it all the way to 9. For those with Saturday off make it a good one! I'll be out early for the monthly spiff meeting in the morning then hopefully a day of being buried in people begging to own a car! No mail today so nothing in the Haul. Boring.
Buy one razor per month! Problem solved! No need to overwhelm swmbo, it's easier to keep the peace of you spread it out. Just be honest about your hobby, and keep her in the loop.
