Gee, it's been well over a year since I've used Lea Menthol and it's such a good cream. I just found two brand-new unopened tubes so I'll start one of them. This cream smells great, it has terrific, rich lather and the menthol effect is about as cold as what you'd get from the Palmolive Menthol cream, or at least pretty close. Its skincare is not quite, quite as good but it's still good enough. The Gold Bond will make up any lack of moisturizing and the Penguin is another menthol atom bomb which I love. ;) :D

I have not tried the AOS tallow soaps. I think that might be on my list for next year.

    Razor - 1964 Gillette Slim (J1)
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Brush - BoS
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold water, Alum, Nivea Original Post Shave

Back to the focus. Slim and Sharp Star which I have run through settings 5 and 7 with improvement at 7. Let's see if I can open it all the way to 9 and get even better results. BoSFat is the brush/soap combination today and I am seriously thinking that I may as well sell the rest of my brushes and soaps. Well, ok, so I won't really do that but the Omega 10066 and MWF just work fantastically together. It was almost like watching Arko lather today as fast as it exploded to life. Slick, cushiony, perfect in every way.

Dialed the Slim up to 9 and went WTG. Yep, this blade loves the aggressive setting, or the razor loves this blade. Maybe it's mutual. Great first pass. Relathered and went XTG all over and wow. Could have stopped there with a very nice DFS. Went ahead for a third pass, mostly just because I wasn't ready to stop, and it was really more touch up in just a few areas on the neck, and finished BBS and wishing I could justify one more pass. Rinsed, grabbed the alum and felt just a mild sting here and there. Fantastic shave. Went for the Nivea Original just to moisturize and headed off to the wonderful world of cars. Put the Sharp Star down for 9 on the Slim. Awesome shave.

Tabac is not my friend, in fact I do not like it at all. And that is extremely unfair, since Tabac has done nothing to me, except given me good shaves.
But it is the smell, the pungent heavy smell. It smells like an old geezer that has bathed in Tabac and forgot to rinse afterwards.
Actually calling it a smell is not sufficient, after I shaved with it yesterday I could literally taste it in my mouth. The Norsewoman commented that my breath smelled flowery not long after I used it.

The soap itself is not bad, not bad at all. It is a slick and protective soap that I can very much enjoy on its own, and that’s why I enjoy my Sir Irisch Moos sticks so much. Same soap, different scent, or so I have been told.

The Personna Platinum Chrome was loaded in my Merkur 34c, and although not as good a match as in the EJ de89, it did a thorough job and removed most of my stubble in two passes.
It was a pretty good shave, despite the soaps attempt to fumigate me

    Superb Tabacstag
Back to school today. Getting up was hard because I went to the Foo Fighters concert last night. My ears are still ringing. It was an excellent show! The opening band was Royal Blood, and they were LOUD!
No blood in this shave, though. It was top notch all the way. Lather, razor, splash and balm combined for a drama free BBS. I'm ready for the students' first day.

The scent should mellow out if you leave it open for a while. Just sayin'
