I can already tell it's going to be a close match with anything less than a Super Pro in the Mongoose.

I've already learned something in this month's focus: if it is wearing a beret, it must be a ferret.

How else would a Dude that shaves with a Wolfman OC razor get to work?

I use Derby blades in all my de razors, they work the best on my face, and using the same blade across the board, for me at least, gives me a better feel for the difference between the razors. YMMV, as akways.

Started my focus a day early with a Menthol Monday kick.

Proraso green preshave, followed by TSD orange soap with 2x menthol. Used the ball end tech with a Derby, and followed with more Proraso green preshave as a balm and finished with Gables Lime mega bombed (5 drops).

After the Slim last month and the Gem break, the ball end felt very mild, but did a great job of taking off the whiskers. A little more touch up than I am used to gave me a bbs with no irritation and no sting from the Gabels. Seems, at least for now, like this focus will be more satisfying than expected. We shall see...

What year is your tech, if it's marked? Also, how do you like the handle? Is it slippery?

Batch 2 Mongoose with Dr. Bomber handle
    Feather Professional blade (2)
    Shavemac two-band silvertip brush
    Trumper's Coconut cream and glycerin
    Two passes plus touch-ups
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

Overall, a fantastic DFS+ shave in two passes. This is a sweet razor and brush!

I have a non dated one, but the one I'm using right now is a 64 I believe. The handle could be a little thicker
but the knurling is deep enough that it's not slippery, so it's okay all in all.

B-3 Mongoose with Triad Ti Helix Spiral
    Feather Pro #2
    Paladin Chief Strawberry Amber 26X52mm
    Stirling Soap Glacial Obsidian
Alum, Stirling Black Ice Witch Hazel, Gold Bond Green Lotion
    Stirling Aftershave Sharp Dressed Man

The first shave of SEptember was an outstanding 2 pass BBS. I'm feeling in control of the Mongoose finally. I stirred the Glacial Obsidian with the Paladin Chief. Loaded a damp brush with plenty of the Black Ice. Slowly worked up a slick and icy lather. Sterling takes more work than some soaps but the pay off is worth it. Today's lather was so cold it made my eyes water. The alum revealed no irritation at all. The Black Ice Witch Hazel is a face freezer with an outstanding scent. Enjoyed the cool for a bit before a gentle splash of SDM and I'm ready for today.

Those old styles can bite when you least expect it. My 1918 is still one of my favorites though.
