Bids that you witnessed, climbing into insanely high level

I was the lucky seller on a few of these insane auctions. Most notably a Mötley Crüe album I sold for $150. That was a good day.

 

I've been the insane bidder on a couple auctions. I won both of them...a very nice Fat Boy, and three NOS Gillette Psychos, in the original box, with an original key. No, I won't tell you what I spent.

 

It's worth considering that technically that brush isn't being made any more, so a new one really isn't the same brush. The new ones are made by Vulfix. The Somerset ones were a different breed, imo.

There was a Toggle on ebay about 2 months ago with a starting bid of $6,999.00. I don't know how it ended.

 

I'm in one now, if my max get met again, I'm out.

And that guy is charging $12 shipping as well. Crazy!

You don't need to feel anything over this bid. Things come and things go, there are many more waiting out there to become your acquisition.

 

I had some hopes of snagging this tin...
It was sitting at $39 until a few hours before ending and it took off... to $611
Ended up being a bidding war between three collectors.

My 'snipe' bid of $100 now seems puny and of course never had a chance.

This is by the way the VERY early tin that the double ring razors were issued in and is almost impossible to find

Too much money for a tin? I guess it's subjective and all good if you can afford it.
I doubt I'll ever see another one for sale though.

 

That toggle was a very rare serial numbered razor NOS with all the paperwork and leather cases, and unopened blade pack. If you were a collector you could get tempted. There is a website that has the current owners names attach to the numbers of these rare toggles.

 

I was bidding on a FB cased, with all the papers, blade case with instructions. It claimed to be NOS but it looked slightly used and cleaned. It was over the long weekend, with a lot of bidders on vacation so I was in up to $80. The one I have is just as nice with all the paperwork that I got for $62 shipped 1 year ago, so I didn't need it. In the last 10 min it went to over $350.
