Well; "I'm 'IN' Kentucky,...but, 'Ya-Can't-have-MINE!' I DO HOPE you'll receive it, SOON! I pray it's a GREAT-ONE for you; I Do! I was (I believe) 'blessed' with mine,...great Condition & Great-Shaves, too! "Happy-Shaving-Days, to you; ALWAYS!
This Morning I shaved with a used 'Crystal' Blade' in one of my Vintage Gillette Razors; just to see how a '3rd' shave might turn-out, for me? At 9:30 AM I thought..., "well, this shave is o'kay for a day like this!" But; at 2:30PM I was sitting next to my Razor Collection; by my computer. I was looking at Razors on E-bay; & I happened to rub my face! Hmm,... I began wishing my 'morning-shave' had been a-bit-closer; knowing I had used a blade '3' times? I looked over at my collection of 20 various "VINTAGE' razors. For a "LARK," I reached over and picked-out a 'Shick' (Amber-Handled) Injector razor; & began giving my-self a "DRY-SHAVE?" Surely this was to be a 'soft-temporary' shaving, over some 'stubble' which the '3rd pass' of my morning's razoring had somehow MISSED? But; as I 'felt-along' during this, somewhat, raspy-shave; I began to appreciate what was happening to my face! I completely shaved my entire face, DRY! I, hurridly, put some Clubman Lilac Vegital After Shave (Or Whatever it is meant for?) on my seemingly 'Parched-Face' ASAP! Yes, the BURN was a REAL BURN..., ahah, A MANLY-BURN INDEED! I am 72 in October, so,....I know of the "MANLY-BURN" I speak of! "Now Hear This!" I 'dry-shaved' in The US Navy (Also shaved with Sea-Water!) I was also in The US Army, & shaved out of my helmut! But; there was something about THIS Shave (I have 72 year-old skin, boys!) that I came away from, with love! Maybe you won't 'Buy My Story?' But; have you REALLY-TRIED? "God-Bless!"
Can't say I have ever fully shaved my face dry...but...I'll be honest and admit that there have been cases where after a shave I notice a highly annoying spot of stubble - often under my nose...and I have gone and grabbed the razor I just used and used it to clean up that small spot without applying anything at all in terms of soap/cream. Did it clean up the area? Sure, the blade's still sharp...but I can't say it felt very comfortable..nor do I think it's particularly good for my skin as that area ends up a bit red-looking.
Arrrgh! They do not make them like you and more Fred. Congrats, I might have to try this. I'm only 62 now, so I will have to wait a while.
Fred is one tough hombre. He and Superman had a fight and the loser had to wear his underwear on the outside of his clothes
I often wondered why The S man's outfit was like that.....Great lick there Rodge....I'm copping it...And I'm going to plagerize this frequently.....and the loser had to.....lol! You killing me man....I'm crying ovah hee ya!
During my 35 years of cart shaving, I always performed touch ups after that one quick single pass on a dry face. No wonder I didn't like shaving back then.
Can't say that "I like dry-shaving," no! The blade in the Shick I used was new; which helped; my stubble wasn't more than a few hrs-old, which also helped. What helped 'the-most' was the 5/6 applications of Mennen Afta" cream I used every couple-hrs before I went to bed. (Still somewhat tender this morning, too!) But; It WAS 'another-shaving-experience, for me! I've had worse razor-burn on my neck from Electric Razors, over the years!
