September 4 Focus Shave 3

Three passes and some touch up on the next. The good: No blood and no irritation. The so-so: just barely DFS, not as close as yesterday's shave.

So I just realized my new PAA Otra soap arrived today!

And it's locked in the apartment office...

 

Late afternoon head shave.

Fantastic shave! Possibly one of the best I've had.
I'll use the No6 soap tomorrow! Great stuff.

 

Thanks for the advice. I read that last month, but it didn't stick with me. Maybe this time. I gave the brush a shake after soaking it for awhile, but I didn't squeeze it. My beard is light and sparse except for a few spots on my neck and chin. I wet my face but not the stick. I rubbed it until it felt like there was no moisture left on my face Actually, I bailed out of my first lather be cause it was so pitiful - I just rinsed it off and tried again. It was the second try I commented on in my post. I got as much soap on my face as I thought I could, and did try to add water gradually, but being a rookie at this, somehow I had my hands so I couldn't see the water as it hit the brush so I don't know how much I got. Well, just goes to show there is plenty for me to learn and plenty of room for improvement.

 

I love it when I get one of those "best I've had" moments!

 

For personal issues, I'm sorry to drop out. I won't be around for a little bit on the forum.

Pre shave: Bloom water from soap tub
Soap: Soap Commander Courage
Brush: Stirling synthetic Kong
Razor: Schick Injector J1
Blade: Schick (China)
Post shave: Stirling Lemon Chill WH/w Aloe

Another great shave. 3 passes plus touch up,BBS results. I'm loving these injectors. The main thing to remember is very light pressure. The newly acquired G type will be up to bat on Saturday. This is fun.

 

Bill, you're not kidding! I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't do any of my normal prep. It has me wondering if I'm overthinking things

Final day of the '12 Gem and I'm sorry it's ending. I am seriously impressed with this razor and am happy I finally discovered it. One of those things collecting dust until the whole SEptember thing came up so there you go....another great help from TSD. Used the pony and went to Proraso thanks to @Rufus T. mentioning it yesterday. I kind of forget I have it around when I'm so enamored with Tabac and MWF. Great easy and effective lather today. Great two pass DFS as well with no problems at all. Loved it. Some irritation but nothing major and I finished up with Proraso A/S to keep it going.

The Crazy Ivan hits in the morning when I go to the EJ DE89l with an unknown Chinese blade, the Blendax. Looking forward to it. I think. Can't be as bad as the Wounded Walrus now can it.

Jealous of your Gem shave, mostly because I'd like to get to the first of my 5 GEMs. Perhaps November, December? Nice to hear your positive review of it, gives me more to look forward to.

As for the rest of your review...are you telling me that two people the likes of us are walking through our towns wearing the same AS?!!!

Well as long as you don't start shaving your head...I can't follow you down that path - Lest i be mistaken for the Great Pumpkin with my oversized round noggin!

 

Ummmm.....I already shave my head. Every Sunday, Merkur 23c, VDH Soap and Boar Brush and an Astra SP. I just don't mention it often since it's only a once a week thing.
