A handful of straights of straights that I have acquired, not that needed any more but I have them now, they will keep me busy anyway so cant complain
Went to several antique stores today, didn't find much, and nothing that wasn't overpriced. There was a pretty good looking Black Beauty, but not at $75. One place was asking $20 for a single Old Spice mug.
After a long search I finally found a Barbasol Floating Head razor early this year. Before this razor I have never found a vintage DE that worked for me but I read allot of comments that this is an aggressive razor. I love aggressive DE so it was my last attempt to find a vintage that works for me. A couple of shaves and yes we have a winner. The razor had allot of brassing but given it's performance I decided to give a make over and sent it out to be replated in rhodium. It was a long almost 3 month wait but the Barbasol is in the house. It looks fantastic, very shiny. So shiny I could not get a good picture of the head because of the reflections.
OK, this is my last haul for a while... Or until the next time I find something I "need". I just completed my last leg of my trip and stopped in a couple more antique stores to stretch my legs. The OS mug is ceramic! My oldest mug to date. It will be a shelf queen and not used. The bottom is concave and has a thumb tab on the handle if that helps date it.($14) Also, the jar was labeled " Mason jar with 7 old razors ". ($35) Here's what was inside. All in bad need of cleaning. In the bath as I type. And so far the only obvious damage is the doors on the red tip. One door is bent up crooked a fair bit. Otherwise all adjustables work and a soak, scrub, and oil should do the trick.
