    The Crazy Ivan in SEptember!
    September 4

Crazy Ivan strikes again. What's the craziest thing I could possibly do? Why, not shave of course, and that's exactly what I did. Early Saturday as usual, alarm couldn't convince me to get up quite yet so I slept in an extra half hour and skipped the shave. Not even gonna apologize. That 30 minutes felt GOOD! The plan for tomorrow is the Feather SS with a Kamisori brand blade. We'll see if Ivan decides to settle down with that plan. Happy Labor Day Weekend!

It's good to be back, thank you! I just wanted to change things up. I'm going to grow a beard again. But I'm going to keep it trimmed to a #2 guard. I look five years younger when I'm clean shaved.

    Schick Krona DE razor
    Rapira Platinum Lux blade
Edwin Jagger Silvertip Fibre L brush
    TFS Zagara e Gelsonimo soap
    Floid Suave aftershave splash

Not sure if the soap / AS combination is ideal; before my shave, I had planned to use an unscented balm, because the TFS scent keeps lingering for a while.

    Pre: Rusty Blade Pre-Shave Oil
    Razor/blade: Gillette Tech/ Astra SP
    Brush/Soap: Semogue/ Tabac
    Post: WH/Coconut oil

I received my Tabac soap a few weeks ago and could not use it because of the smell. Overpowering. I aired it outside for a few days and finally today I decided to use it. What a pleasant surprise. Still a strong scent, but what a shave!!! Great soap...but will have to reserve it for weekends because I work in a scent free environment. :chores016:

    September 6

Batch 2 Mongoose with Dr. Bomber handle
    Feather Professional blade (1)
    Shavemac two-band silvertip brush
    Trumper's Coconut cream and glycerin
    Two passes
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

I had an interesting shave this morning using a new Feather blade in the Mongoose. When I loaded the new blade, I didn't match the top cap in place correctly to the base plate. The blade was positioned correctly on the base plate, but the top cap was pushed forward slightly. This resulted in more blade exposure and a much more aggressive shave. It felt similar to shaving with my Feather AC kamisori. I got a very close shave and a few small weepers. Lesson learned - the hard way. :angry032:

I hope your shave is more relaxing than mine. :)

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (5)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (13, 14)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron

A couple of days' growth, combined with a blade on its 5th day, made for a shorter shave than usual. Two passes and I could feel the warning signs for razor burn, as the blade was starting to tug despite excellent, copious lather. So, I curtailed my efforts after 2 passes and DFS results, and finished off with the Ice Blue as I considered the notion that the nights are getting a bit cooler, finally.

    RR Sunday
It was a nice, easy, smooth feeling shave today. I am a little sad to see the donut in my Rhapsody, but I've enjoyed every minute of it. I'm glad it's coming back next year. I'll be sure to use up what I have by then. I noticed that the Colonel uses much more lather than my HIS synthetic. I wonder if that is just what badgers do, or if the Simpson is just more of a hog than other badgers.
The Cologne Russe stung more than expected, and that is because I used a 9-9-7 progression instead of my usual 9-7-7. That one pass made a big difference in sting, but not as big in how smooth my skin feels. In other words, the trade off is not worth it. Back to 9-7-7 for me.

Prep: warm shower, Dove+ Men hydrate
    Soap: B&M Rhapsody
    Brush: HIS synthetic
    Razor: 1959 FatBoy 9-9-7
    Blade: Voskhod (2)
AS: B&M Cologne Russe, Shea Moisture Balm

I just cannot believe how until my dear friend Ryan introduced me to the Stirling soaps I never heard of them and now I cannot stop using them. The Glacial Lemon Chill's lather is an absolute delight, it feels mega ice-cold, and it's got a magnificent post-shave feeling. The Glacial Obsidian balm is super-frigid and so protective, and the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel felt wonderful in its own bone-chillingly cold way. A new Derby for tomorrow - this one gave me a great final shave!

My first shave this week was last Tuesday, with a 8/8", half-hollow ground Meatchopper by Koraat Knives and the subsequent shaves of this week were all done with a Feather AS-D2 DE, loaded with a Feather blade. The rest of the set-up did not vary and consisted of Musgo Real pre-shave oil, Jack Black shave cream, Nightdivers Woodyset shave brush with a 24mm synthetic knot, Bloc Osma Alum and Musgo Real Classic after shave.

This is what Tuesday morning looked like:

And Wednesday through Friday, the set-up looked like this, with the usual bathroom suspects:
