I'm also celebrating the soon-to-be arrival of my new Glacial Obsidian soaps which I ordered last week from Rod, so I decided to go with this stuff and I'm so happy I did. It's absolutely perfect for a Menthol Monday Shave because it's so frigid as well as so full of wonderful lather and skincare. Its matching balm is the same type of menthol atom bomb, and so is the Rubby Dubby Doo!

Today’s shave started off Chilly with the Frostbite Soap, included a Black Ice Witch Hazel Face Freeze, and ended with an eye watering, icy splash of Frostbite Aftershave. As Lepew would say OO’ La La! Two pass bliss today. Have a good holiday all!

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #18 Silver Tip Badger brush. Two passes with my Schick J2 razor and a Personna SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

We're still going through the colder months here in Australia.

Last three mornings have been a brisk, 40, 41 and 38 this morning so I decided to pull out my favorite soap in my den for Monday's shave; Tiki's Frosted Woodlands. It is a custom blend Amanda did for me and in my humble opinion, the best one of the twelve I have tried from her.

Man oh man, do I ever love the Glacial Obsidian soap - it froze me out with such great lather and its black liquorice scent which I find fantastic. The matching balm is one of the most soothing (and freezing!) products I ever used, and the Rubby Dubby Doo completed the job in fine style. Not only did I get BBS, thanks to the new Derby blade I also feel like I just came from a spa!

today's shave was ok. the soap commander and my Oscar11 did marvelously. three passes with the Clauss left me with a passable but not admirable. a fourth pass with the hd helped. lack of practice is to blame. finished with a splash of rubby dubby do and a gold bond rub down. very cold for a Monday morning.

Not a great shave
I realized this blade was a dud after half of the first pass. I switched, but the damage was already done. No big cuts, just irritated skin. All the other products worked great. Excellent lather and matching aftershave helped put out the fire.

The Lea Menthol SC is a face freezer! Great shave and ready for a big Labor Day family gathering.

 

I decided that I liked the D.R. Harris Windsor enough that I will finish off this sample. This is a nice, slick and cushioning lather with a pleasant scent.
