Man, tough crowd Ok, if I cheat and look at my s/sheet there are only two razors (out of 45 tested so far) that have a 9.5 (out of 1o) rating; - M.Peroni, and - Tradere OC. That's as granular as I could get Love them both....
Tough to pick just one, but since my earliest entry in this thread was a DE razor, time to update…. my vintage Böhler-Stahl 'Star of David' 5/8 round-point is my current favorite….
My Gillette toggle (D1) 1958, was my White Whale. It is the finest shaving instrument that I have ever used. The engineering is perfect, and the construction is flawless.
Tough one. The Ranger Tech/'47 Super Speed (shave basically the same) are legendary for me, but I'm settling in on the Red Tip now that it's taken a liking to me. On sheer looks, either of the Black Beauty adjustables or a nickel-plated NEW or Aristocrat/President. As a concept, the Shake Sharp...a winning combination of design, quality, utility (assuming carbon blade use) and shave. But if this is really one of those 'on a desert island for the rest of your life' questions, there's no question: The Rolls.
