September 7, 2015 - Labor Day
I've had 6 great shaves with Schick injectors so far this month. I've used a J3 "Golden 500"; an I2 - another hydro-magic Schick; and a G type. All gave excellent shaves.
But some of the wise injector-masters on this thread have encouraged me to move forward to more aggressive injector razors.
I've accepted their challenge at the expense of becoming more familiar with the previous injectors. I am committed to get back to them at some point as they all gave great shaves. But for now, it's on to other injectors.
Today it's a Canadian-made Schick believed to be an E series (E2?).
Mid-morning shave, with two-day growth.

Two-pass shave. (WTG, ATG)
I was a bit apprehensive stepping up to the plate for this one as I was warned that I'm about to move up on the aggressiveness scale for Schick injectors.
Evidently, the week I just spent with some of the milder versions prepared me well for today. The first pass did a decent (not stellar) job of whisker reduction, but the second (ATG) pass and a minor touch-up, left me smooth with a great shave, similar to all the injectors I've used this month.
I'm not convinced this is a "better" razor than any of the others. But this is the last Shick injector in my den (I just have a PAL adjustable left)...and this E2 is such a beautiful, handsome razor (thanks @
Omaney ) that I'm going to spend a full week with it and just get to see if I can get more out of it with additional practice and experience. I know, I said I just got a great shave, but I'm gonna experiment and make sure I realize it's full potential.
Most of you with so much experience with injectors can tell instantly the difference. But this novice needs to develop skills you already possess in order to better discern the nuance.
So I think just shaving with the E2 will help. Plus, I'm going to switch my first pass to an XTG and see if that reduces growth better than a WTG and thereby set up the ATG for a even smoother last pass. And as usual, I'll keep up the hunt for the best cutting angle. Right now I'm starting the stroke just a few degrees from flush with the head.
I've learned enough about injectors in this first week to realize that I need to explore all my wet-shave options fully in order to best appreciate all the choices. I continue to solicit and appreciate all the enthusiastic advice I'm getting from the injector aficionados on this thread!
Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend - brought to you by the folks who established - the weekend!
Cheers!
