Yo engrsaks....anyone who wants to find out more about injectors or whatever...thats a perfectly cool question to ask...We want to know how it compares to something we're familier with...We all have asked tons of similar questions...There's alot of folks here who would probably like to field a question like this..and All the cats on that last thread where I met you hang out here aswell..

This is kind of a hard question, because as Gary was saying, there is a big difference depending on which razor you try which Twin type jector blades...as Darkbulb was saying, he wanted to try the Schick Twin bulbs in his F type...but the Twinjector blades can only be used in L types and later. Thats like injector razors made from the mid 60's on...

The NOS Schick Twinjector blades are actually awesome in the right razor. They can take a razor that is too mild and make it more efficient without really making it more aggressive...if that makes since...Personally I like the injectors better than the TracIIs, but then I grew up in a Schick Household, so I'm biased. I mean I wouldn't hesitate to use the Twinjector blades in an L type, in fact I would love to, but I don't have the razor or the blades right now....And although I think the Trac II and the Atra are my favorite cartridges, I have no interest in using one of them anytime soon...Ohh I do think @Darkbulb is on to something with the Wilkinson Cart razor, I had forgotten about them...I dug them when they first came out....But haven't tried one since the 70's...alot of whiskers have washed down the sink since then....lol. I would like to try one again, but then....If I flipped for them, it would be so hard to find those carts....

    September 7, 2015 - Labor Day

I've had 6 great shaves with Schick injectors so far this month. I've used a J3 "Golden 500"; an I2 - another hydro-magic Schick; and a G type. All gave excellent shaves.

But some of the wise injector-masters on this thread have encouraged me to move forward to more aggressive injector razors.

I've accepted their challenge at the expense of becoming more familiar with the previous injectors. I am committed to get back to them at some point as they all gave great shaves. But for now, it's on to other injectors.

    Today it's a Canadian-made Schick believed to be an E series (E2?).

    Mid-morning shave, with two-day growth.
    Hot Shower
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Brush: Omega Pro 48
Razor: Schick Type E - Canada
    Blade: Schick Injector (China) (1)

    Aftershave Cream: Proraso
    After Shave: Proraso Green

    Two-pass shave. (WTG, ATG)

I was a bit apprehensive stepping up to the plate for this one as I was warned that I'm about to move up on the aggressiveness scale for Schick injectors.

Evidently, the week I just spent with some of the milder versions prepared me well for today. The first pass did a decent (not stellar) job of whisker reduction, but the second (ATG) pass and a minor touch-up, left me smooth with a great shave, similar to all the injectors I've used this month.

I'm not convinced this is a "better" razor than any of the others. But this is the last Shick injector in my den (I just have a PAL adjustable left)...and this E2 is such a beautiful, handsome razor (thanks @Omaney ) that I'm going to spend a full week with it and just get to see if I can get more out of it with additional practice and experience. I know, I said I just got a great shave, but I'm gonna experiment and make sure I realize it's full potential.

Most of you with so much experience with injectors can tell instantly the difference. But this novice needs to develop skills you already possess in order to better discern the nuance.

So I think just shaving with the E2 will help. Plus, I'm going to switch my first pass to an XTG and see if that reduces growth better than a WTG and thereby set up the ATG for a even smoother last pass. And as usual, I'll keep up the hunt for the best cutting angle. Right now I'm starting the stroke just a few degrees from flush with the head.

I've learned enough about injectors in this first week to realize that I need to explore all my wet-shave options fully in order to best appreciate all the choices. I continue to solicit and appreciate all the enthusiastic advice I'm getting from the injector aficionados on this thread!

Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend - brought to you by the folks who established - the weekend!

    Cheers!

    Is that handle maroon?

Well I'm no expert with colors (or shaving), but I'd say it doesn't have enough red in it for me to say it's maroon, rather closer to butterscotch.

Ah...good! I don't have to search for a maroon one now. That's my teams color. Beauty you have there. I've one sitting that I keep saying I'm going to use but never get around to it. Great write up! Thanks.

Yeah, as I look at the photo now, I can see your point about the maroon. I'm not crazy about the photo quality of these iPhones, but they are convenient!

The razor is certainly more butterscotch in real life.

I don't know about this particular Canadian E Type that you have here Sir....One of the Butterscotch Handled Canadian Type Es' that I have doesn't feel dissimilar to a Type G .....The Canadians seemed to do their own thing regarding the shaving characteristics of Type E Injectors....They certainly did not appear to fall into the USA made Type E typology camp that's for sure....I came across a thread from an older generation Schick user in the States and he reckons that Eversharp may have Cloned the G Type from an earlier Canadian Type E for the reasons I have mentioned...The G 1 Type Handle was a Clone from some of the Canadian Type Es' for sure....;)
I have had similar thoughts myself....:chores016:

Thanks for that Billy. Perhaps I'll send more photos if you think it would help.
But bottom line - its giving great shaves!

Second shave of the week with the Type E. I will shave the rest of the week with it. I want to get to know this one better because my first impression is, that with a little work on my part, it could become a regular BBS shave and deserve to be and everyday razor. Time will tell.

My experiment will begin by switch my first pass from WTG to XTG. I want to see if that reduces growth better than a WTG It should right?!) and thereby set up the ATG for a more efficient and smoother last pass. I’m certain I could get BBS with WTG/ATG, but it may require more repeat strokes and touch-ups. Also, and as usual, I’ll keep up the hunt for the best cutting angle. Right now I'm starting the stroke just a few degrees from flush with the head.

Today was excellent 2-pass shave (XTG/ATG), with few repeat strokes.

If anyone is familiar with Canadian Schicks I sure would appreciate help in definitively identifying this razor. I believe it to be an E but have some doubts.

And as always, I continue to solicit and appreciate all the enthusiastic advice to help me improve my shave!

    Cheers!

Is there anyone here that has wanted to try (I mean really try) an injector but never had the chance for whatever reason?

I used the lady Eversharp(renamed Karma) today. I love the Hydro Magic head! Mild perfection for me.

Looks like a middle period E2 to me....That part of the spring that holds the bottom jaw closed is definitely shaped like an E2 but not the earliest ones but the next style ones that had the point like the first ones but had nubs on each side to keep you from opening it...But not like the post E2s that had a notch and nub in the center of this same point.....

As its been said, the Canadian Schicks had another timeline to their development though, and I'm am not familier, I'm only comparing this the the U.S. Schicks that I do know...At any rate, it sounds to me that you are a lucky so and so to have this beauty in your shave cave....aint destiny grand? Enjoy every minute....

There are cats around here who can narrow the time-frame for this razor for you....Schicks aren't like Gillettes in that respect, finding an exact date for them is not possible...But we can get within a few years....and these guys shave their blades off to make up for it....(Y).
