Still working on learning the ways of my OCMM. Got a BBS today but with a price - a few tiny cuts and a face that went into full alert mode when greeted with the alum block. I like it close but maybe not that close. In the meantime, I keep acquiring Schicks and have a backlog of razors to try.
Yeah. My MMOC has a pretty close learning curve but is slated for go number 3 tomorrow.... Homemade pre shave oil, JR #14 VS best badger, WSP Rustic Shave Soap-vetiver, MMOC w/ Ted Pella blade, Alum block (oouch), Homade lavender vanilla witch hazel, Polo Red
No. It was simple. Had some Castor oil, olive oil, a little mineral oil, and some fragrance oils. Started with an ounce of Castor oil added a little less of the olive and mineral oils. Added fragrance oils to my liking. Works better than the pre shave oil I bought at Walgreen's.
Got that right...I've not gotten through my 5 Schicks yet and I still have 5 Gems and an Everready to try! So many razors, and but one shave a day!
That handle is gorgeous. Sure looks like an E2 to me - I'm assuming I see flaps on the side of the springs and no parallel grooves on the guard bar.
Yes you see it correctly and it is gorgeous, plus I like the shave, so whether it is an E2 or not, it'll be staying in my rotation! Check out the discussion on the type issue over on the SE / Injector Party... http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/injector-se-party.23113/page-149
Day 8 - SEptember 2015 30 Days with a Schick G This razor had moved into a tie with Phoenix OC for my top performer. I have the irritation issues and stroke pattern solved a bit better and am really liking it after 8 days. It took a few days to see the light and have it all come together, but now more than ever I am glad I didn't bail after day 4....
By Techmatic, I assume you mean Micromatic! Pressure and angle is the key with these Gem razors. If one is off, you could have done irritation, if both are off, you could end up looking like you went 10 rounds with a Samurai warrior and lost. Keep practicing and you will get better.
I guess I was tired today too. Yes it is a Micromatic and I will keep practicing. Thanks. ( Is that a Bama Samurai warrior? )

The #6 brush whipped up the Don Donato into a rich and thick lather. The MM OC paired with the GEM blade and the Duck knocked down the stubble with ease. The Nivea PSB and the Aqua H2O were a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
Today was day two with the Gem Micromatic and I think I'm figuring it out, thanks to advice received yesterday. I was careful with the angle and lightened up to no pressure. I am used to heavier razors and must have been applying pressure yesterday when I opened up a bunch of weepers. Today I did a two pass shave with a little touch up and had zero weepers. I actually got a DFS and am looking forward to tomorrow's shave. SOTD Gem Micromatic OC Gem blade (2) TOBS Grapefruit Cream AOS AS Balm Florida Water AS Have fun!
Day 9, SEptember 2015 Got it all dialed in after a week! This razor, though somewhat aggressive, is a total joy. I am getting some long lasting DFS/BBS shaves every time now.
