    09/12/2015
    Razor – GEM 1912
Blade – GEM Stainless PTFE (4)
Brush – Olivewood with TGN Finest Fan
    Lather – Mystic Water Lime
Post - Witch Hazel and Fine L’Orange

So glad it's football season again. A very good 3 pass shave this morning. I chased the baby but just couldn't quite catch it. Since I don't use GEM razors as often, it takes me a least one shave to get back in the groove. My wife bought me some shea butter facial soap at a festival yesterday and I tried it this morning as facial prep. I can see myself using this more often. As usual Mystic Water was finicky but the rewards more than make up for the extra work. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange.

Thank you Doug. My mom made that for me as a gift when I graduated from UGA.

    Vulfix Super Badger (660)
    Proraso Sandalwood cream
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Shave #2 with the Rapira Swedish Supersteel in my birthday Tech. A very comfortable easy BBS shave.
Used about a 1/2 inch dollop of Proraso on each side of my neck and squeezed out the water from the Vulfix Super Badger brush and did a face lather. Added a hand scoop of water twice as I went. The lather was thick and creamy. I had more than enough for the shave.
2 full passes: Pass 1 WTG on my face and XTG on my neck (wings to center today). Passes 2: ATG. Very comfortable, much closer today, almost BBS at this point. Did a cold water rinse and a minor touch up and the baby ran to me. The Aqua Velva was quiet today.

A nice easy BBS shave from the Rapira Swedish Supersteel in the Tech. I did not even have to chase the baby. :happy108:

Hope y’all have a great weekend!

I've been struggling with my asthma the last 4 day's, we've had high temperatures and poor air quality combined is disaster. Today I'm feeling a little better the temperature will be lower and the air quality much better.
I had a really nice shave, Tiki 1920's is fabulous! The Mongoose really is worth the wait and price. I love it. The best piece of shaving gear I've purchased. Ever. Hey! The Omega 10098 is a winner! Every time when I shave I think of this thread and the friendships built here.

I'm using a Gem 1912 as well. It definitely lets you know it's cutting. I like that.

The Schick F is a truly efficient razor and the Soap Exchange Barber Shoppe provided good slickness. Great shave.

Day 4 of 7-day Test Drive
Today was the fourth consecutive shave using this custom Mastro Livi. I'm still careful with the deadly-sharp point, but navigating this large razor is beginning to feel 'normal' as I've grown acclimated to the sheer size of it. I pushed it a bit further than the normal three passes in order to hit the true BBS territory. I achieved it—but at some cost.

What became apparent is why I don't normal 'chase the baby' when I shave. I do have sensitive skin and repeated passes tend to lead to inflammation. No real inflammation resulted, but I do have some smooth but tender spots now that revealed themselves when I applied the Snake Bite aftershave. Four down, three to go!

In keeping with my Saturday focus, I started out with my Feather AC SS for the first pass. I'm getting this thing figured out. I got a nice pass with no irritation that I would call CCS. I did a cleanup pass with my Ever Ready 1912 for a DFS. I'm learning a lot on this SE focus.

    Mongoose with Dr. Bomber handle
    Feather Professional blade (7)
    Shavemac two-band silvertip brush
    TSD unscented soap and glycerin
    Two passes plus touch-ups
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

I've been scarce around these parts the last few days, but I have enjoyed some great shaves with the Mongoose. Today was my first shave using TSD soap, and it will definitely stay in the rotation. A big thanks to JoAnna Queen of Blades for her terrific soap. :happy088: I have a new Feather Super Pro blade (correctly :p) loaded and ready for tomorrow's shave.

    Enjoy your Saturday!

I was very nervous about trying the Feather Super Pro blade, once I did my first pass WOW! This blade is no joke. I could've gotten away with a two pass shave. I'll be waiting for your thoughts. :)

    September 30 Day Focus--Blade Search

    Sept 12 (no shave yesterday)

    Razor -- Lord L6
    Blade -- Ladas
    Brush -- VDH Boar
    Soap -- Stirling MITA
Post -- Cold water splash and WH, TSD Bourbon Vanilla

    20150912_010351-picsay.jpg

Another excellent shave from the Ladas blade. Seems incredibly smooth and had no problem slicing through two day growth which about killed the Derby blade. A shave with this blade is very reminiscent of a shave with the GSB. Hopefully will have one more good shave tomorrow and we will have another great blade from the Russians.

Have a great rest of the weekend and happy shaving!

I gave you a like even though you had that hideous G sitting there. (Love the fact your mom made it though, she just should have convinced you to go to a better college that's all:happy102: ). Looking forward to some great SEC football this year! Go Cocks!!
