Very nice! I really want a butterscotch handle brush, I think I'm going to get one from WD. Thanks Dave! Enjoy!
I received my first higher end brush today. It is a Thater 2-Band Silvertip. I am looking forward to using it..........
I received my prize from the following TSD raffle ... thanks JoAnna! http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/done-support-tsd-raffle.46467/ I decided to get some TSD Russian Leather Cologne and 2X Menthol Russian Leather Soap at the same time.
My 400 Rapira Platinum Lux blades just arrived. That makes a total of just shy of 600 I do 8 or 9 shaves with a Rapira blade ... should last me about 14 years
My Gillette Atra handle and blades. Using a cartridge for my head shaves has been a joy, faster, smoother, no irritation. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality.
Look what I found while lurking around at a local flea market earlier today. A Gillette Super Speed with an O4 date code and some Dr. Pennskin shave cream. Once back home, I cleaned up the razor and popped open the shave cream and gave it a whirl. Nice results. The shave cream has a talcum powder scent to it and builds into a slick and rich lather. I've never heard of this brand before, but the owner was there and said he has a store in NYC and sells a variety of soaps, creams, brushes and razors. The Super Speed cost me $10, it shaves beautifully and is in great shape. I'm happy!
In the mailbox today. TSD Lanolin Shave Soap, Bay Rum. My first TSD soap and it will be on the menu in the morning!
I'll do my best. Been checking it out and SWMBO says she smells the Rum. Although I don't think it has real rum in it there is an alcohol scent with it that is very nice when combined with the spices. I sense the bay and cloves. I'll give it another good whiff tomorrow before I start and, of course, during the shave I hope to be able to describe it better. Definitely spicy though. I like it.
Actually that description sounds nice. I like spicy notes and I happen to like clove. =) it seems interesting to smell the rum, I haven't smelled that before in a soap. I wanna get some more of JoAnna's soaps someday soon

It was a good morning at the Antiques Fair. I went with $100.00 in my pocket and came home with change These two handles are made of bone. I will have to hunt down some knots. My SE focus has opened my purchasing horizons My favorite catch of the day is this blade bank. I have never seen this one before.
I ran into a guy that had just purchased a box that had a dozen razors in it, among which was a Fatboy in its case, a long handled Black Beauty, a Red and Black set , what looked to be an NOS Schick Golden 500 boxed set, among others. He paid $25.00 for the box and knew nothing about what he had. A vendor got excited when he saw it, so he wasn't interested in selling anything yet. The frustrating thing is that he got there a half hour before me. It could have been a real good day!
