FatherofSquirrel A right jolly old elf

Awesome stuff Gary. I liked the Gillette shave brush in the one ad. Didn't realize Gillette made brushes.

Amazing ads... I really wonder, though, just how many men would have been excited on Christmas morning to find a pack of razor blades in their stocking.

I think that is the overarching theme is for the men to want the razors for Christmas to attract the ladies. It seems that things have not changed much since then.

Maybe, but I always saw the OS gift set, much like the current Axe sets, as being the gift you got some male for whom you didn't quite know what to get.

That's interesting that advert Sir....It says New Improved Injector with "12 Double Thick Blades" ....That injector key tucked into the lid looks different as well...I have often wondered about the F Type as its very tricky to load a current blade...;)
It would appear that the F Type took thicker blades then....:chores016:

I think that the old carbon blades were thicker than current stainless blades, but might these "12 Double Thick Blades" have been special blades released for this razor? If we had an original set we would know whether they were thicker than injector blades at the time, or whether that was an ad point to gouge at DE razors and blades.

I think Gillette more than likely subcontracted to a brush maker for those brushes.
