Great, great stuff. I never do find anything in the wild but I can totally see how that would add to the experience... Your bone handles and used blade box are fantastic btw. Grats!
Haven't posted for a while as I am on vacation, but found these in Old Town San Diego. The olive oil is from locally grown and pressed olives from a grove in Temecula California. They have a Web page, so the soaps are available to all. There will be a review in the soaps thread, as I'll be testing the pomegranate later today. They cost 15 bucks a piece, but the bowls are reusable at leas
I've had good luck in the wild. A lot of sellers at antiques fairs don't know what they have. Of course you also run into the sellers that think uncased Fat Boys are worth $160.00 These handles will make cool brushes. Im excited. I almost missed the blade bank. It was hidden in a case of odds and ends.
I went on a antique shop hunt today and found a Gillette Knack (blue handle), a Gillette Rocket (made in England) and finally what I think might be a real odd ball, a Schick injector"1937 pat" "made in Canada" "nickel plated black bakelite handle" Type E ?? I'll post pictures when I get back home.
I bought this black beauty (Y2, 1978) for $8 from a flea market. It's in good condition, barely used.
It's a shampoo bar from Lush. And I asked for samples of Prince and Dirty shave "soap" I'm a bit curious
I had two unused Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soaps: one in the travel container and one in regular packaging. I had asked the clerk at Mast General if I could exchanged an unopened CCBR for the Almond scent and she said, "Certainly." Today, while we were out and about I took along my CCBR and dropped by Mast General. It was a simple exchange. Now, I have all four scents. In order of aquisition: Bay Rum Lime Amber Almond I currently have nineteen soaps/creams in my rotation, so, I am going to set this aside and slide it into rotation when I run out of one. I am looking forward to that because it does have a pleasant scent.
I'm not sure if this is a correct post here but I "unscored " a razor today. All part of the new plan. Sold the beast in 1 day , twice what I paid but still fair to the new owner ($150) . I'm "downsizing "
Picked up a couple OC Gillette razors today in a tobacco shop of all places. One is a Senator tto, the other is a made in Canada Bostonian? Neither is perfect but both should be good user grade models.
Hunting in the wild each day on vacation has been a lot of fun. I've seen a Gillette Executive, several Fatboys, a NOS Rolls razor and a couple boxed early Schicks that I forced myself not to buy.
Thank you. I haven't lathered them up yet, only had a sniff of them in dry state. The 'Humid Earth' reminds me of Hazelnuts and other nice and indeed more 'earthy' scents. The 'Ylang Ylang' just smells nice with a hint of Asia... Hard to describe, really. Will provide a better description once I lather them up.
