1. True, and going forward I probably will order the larger plastic bottle and decant it into the glass. I put Clubman into a glass bottle for the same reason. You'd be surprised how much it affects the scent.

  2. I did a mass purchase buying all of their products in the cool glass bottles except the one you just bought. I somehow missed that one during checkout. I would definately buy the Emulsion, Antesol and Aqua Balsamica in larger sizes

  3. Picked up a cased, NIB Gillette Sensor Gold Edition.

Estate of retired Gillette employee being sold off and there are another five or so cased NIB special models that you just never see for sale (titanium, silver, etc)

I picked one...and went with this one.

  4. Erm, yeah. By first version, I was referring to the imprint on the base of the mug, though after double checking, all of the " Ship Grand Turk" Hull pottery versions would have that particular imprint.

Here's an interesting history of the ship itself.

Any aftershaves I buy that don't come in glass get decanted immediately into glass for just that reason.

  5. Another Vintage Frameback Razor; coffin case scales…mid-19th century. Needs a little clean up and polish.

  6. How many does that make now?
  7. Love it.
  8. Framebacks or straight razors in general?
FBs - about a half dozen. This particular one was unique enough to grab, price was right and the condition, good.
    Total - I've lost count...:D:signs002:

  9. Yeah, framebacks. I already knew you had a ton of other straights. :D
  10. I really like the looks of the framebacks. If I ever get into straights, I will want one of those. Is there a benefit to the frame?
  11. Framebacks were cheaper and easier (faster) to manufacture as a tapered blade is inserted into the frame (spine) vs having to hollow-grind the blade.

Some models allowed for replacing the blades after time.

  13. My wife is going out of town on a hiking trip to Yosemite with some girlfriends. She texted me this picture so I called her. They had stopped at an antiques shop on the way and she bought me this. She got the tray and the brush for $5.00 and says the brush is labeled Rubberset. She then said, "Did I do good"? Yes, she did. So did I when I married her:)

  14. Great score - both on brush and wife!

  16. I'm waiting on another "Stahly Live Blade" and some Chinese fountain pens.:)
  17. Waiting for my J.A. Henkels Friodur straight to be professionally sharpened tomorrow. As far as I know this razor was never used and or made shave ready.
