Never heard of Barbacool. The name and design are enough to get me interested.

I see what you mean. I wish I could get that clarity and complexity using my DSLR.
These pictures are a work of art, and I am not just saying that to suck up. I guess when you have talent it does not matter much what camera you use, Mr. HolyRollah is proof of that

That being said, in my humble opinion I think your pictures are pretty good too

I am glad you enjoyed the soap, and you are most welcome. And you deserve thank for introducing me to Dusy which is just as good a soap, but have yet to try to kill me the same way that Klar does.

In Norsespeak, klar means ready, while the german translation (if I am not mistaken) means clear. My interpretation is that this soap is more than ready to clear my existence from this universe.

The answer to your question is probably yes :)

According to WSP page, Barbacool is their Barbershop scent with menthol added.

    I like it a lot.

Today I wanted to compare the two Kabinett soaps, Dusy and Klar. Discussions online vary between some who thinks they are the same, while other notice a difference. And I wanted to try to see if I notice a difference for myself, especially since Klar tend to burn my face.

I bowl lathered up each soap using both my Frank Shaving badger brushes. I tried to load each soap equally, but I make no guarantees. The soap water ratio using two different brushes is very difficult to duplicate. But since this is not a scientific research paper, I will not lose any sleep over it.

After the initial loading period, I think the Dusy looked like the better lather. It looked creamy and slick, while Klar looked slightly thinner and less "shiny".

Looks can be deceiving, especially when you do not have a clue what you're talking about :)

After a few strokes on each side, the Klar side was noticably better. Smooth, slick and quite wonderful. Dusy was still pretty great, but compared with the Klar it lacked the certain extra. After the shave progressed, the differences faded into a big blur. I would not be able to distinguish the two in a blind test.

One of the reason I wanted to do this test was to determine if Dusy would burn my face the same way that Klar tends to do. Unfortunately, or maybe not, neither soap burned my face this time. They both felt great and gave me a terrific shave.

The Edwin Jagger de89 with a blue Astra blade was the perfect companion to these soaps. It cut my two day beard effortlessly and without hindrance. A great shave all around and the Lucido aftershave was the perfect ending to a great shave

    Razor: Edwin Jagger de89
    Blade: Astra Superior Stainless
Brushes: Frank Shaving Finest Badger, 24 and 26 mm respectively
    Soap: Dusy & Klar Kabinett
    Aftershave: Lucido

Scary name of the after-shave, but if it includes "Barber" it's good enough to consider. :)

Nice write up. I concur, the two soaps are virtually indistinguishable. Add Soap Commander Love (True Rose) to the mix and it's a real blur. BTW, if you haven't tried the SC, I highly recommend their product line. The aftershave balms are also magnificent and the rose pairs perfectly.

    TSD 2X Iced Barbershop
Dickinson’s ++Menthol, Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter
TSD Aftershave Splash - 2X Iced Barbershop

Today’s was a near BBS 2-Pass plus clean up shave. It was the last shave for the Feather Pro blade. The plan is to try a Feather Super Pro for Saturday’s Birthday Shave. It’s a mean looking blade that should provide a real close shave. At least, that's the word on the street. The only problem with TSD 2x Iced Barber Shoppe is remembering how to spell it correctly. It’s easy to lather, has a nice icy, slick feel, has a great scent and good moisturizing.

A last minute SOTD change: the Brush for today’s shave will be The Varlet Beehive. This was the fourth lathering of the brush and there was no shedding at all. The bush has good firmness and density with soft luxurious tips. The knot held enough lather for three passes. It had great flow through and very little splay. The handle is well designed and has a nice fit, in my large hand. Its medium size was comfortable yet allowed for quick and easy angle changes. The Beehive does provide an excellent lathering experience. It has an outstanding knot. Well done Aldo!

Trying out my new WD 24/65 Synthetic brush on the Tabac this time. I expect it will do a great job just as it has done with my other soaps. Long time since I have used my Gillette Slim, set on 5.

Good shave this evening. Iced TSD Signature is a great shave soap. Two passes with the Ever-Ready and a cleanup with the Flare Tip. Still not that good with the Ever-Ready around the chin. It will come though. Fine L'Orange is a good A/S. The brush still needs some work.

Hmmmmmm, it's been ages since I've used my Frost_byte soap so that's my selection this time. I love the way it lathers and I remember when I first received it I was a bit put off by the scent, but now I find it to be quite pleasant. It provides a damned strong menthol punch which is not quite in the Glacial league, but not too far off and its skincare is also quite good. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel will guarantee that extra mega-potent freeze which means so much to me. My Personna blade is still going strong! ;) :D

A great weekend to everyone in advance! :)
