P.S. May I ask what the EMS blades cost, including shipping?

The injector packs are 20 blades each @ $4.50 and the GEM pack is 10 blades @ $3.75. Plus shipping. They had like 7 different options for shipping, the one I choose brought the total to $28.xx

Decided to try my Schick type E (I think its an E) with a Super Stainless blade tomorrow. I have never tried these blades but am curious to compare with the plus platinum

Hack away my friend...:shocked003:....now what advice did you really expect....hmmm? :lam:
The question should be....Now which SE or Injector should I use....

Try the G8, so you'll know if you want to trade it to me at the conf....:happy088:
Just kidding....make a great lather and go for it....If the G8 feels harsh, swap it out for the I1....That easy,....thats how I usually am....one tug and I'm changing blades....I have NO tolerance for anything messing with my shavetime enjoyment...I live by a rule that I learned from one of the greatest music teachers ever...I'll paraphrase for this case, "My shave is a shave of comfort...and during my shave I will not tolerate anything I don't Dig!"

I myself wouldn't dare to use a Pella/Personna Blade in the Floating Head Sir....Its a very aggressive injector and requires a more forgiving blade ...I think you would find the Floating Head to be more user friendly with a Chick blade perhaps....;)

Do you find the Pella/Personna Blades to be sharper than the Chick blades? I have only used Chick blades in my I1 and J3 injectors.

I find the Chick's sharper and less comfortable than the Personna's. I use the Personna's almost exclusively and enjoy them. It's that old YMMV thing I reckon

Well...To be honest the only Injector that I personally enjoy a Pell/Personna Blade in is my G Types....I use the Chick blade in my F Type & PAL Injectors as they work for me well in these....I find them to be sharper and decidedly more forgiving in these particular injectors...;)

I find that Pella/Personna blades work well in milder injectors but can be somewhat brutal in more aggressive ones....I am a Fanatical NOS Injector Blade User to be honest and I use NOS Single & Twin Blades 90% of the time...:p

Nice looking razor, I have no idea what it is. I`ve been using Ted Pellas, I get a very nice two pass shave as easily as falling off a log. If it ain`t broke, DON`T FIX IT. Now I`m not against experimenting. As a matter of fact, I`m trying to learn how to use a Razolution 4 edge razor with a new handle I just bought. I`m only using one blade (I`m not stupid, just curious) I wish you luck, please do the same for me. I live in an area(So.,Ore) where I must order everything on line, the stores here just don`t carry much in the way of shaving gear.

    With respect, Bill

Its definately "made in Canada" Pat 1937 nickel plated with a black bakelite handle. There doesn't seem to be much info on the Canadian made versions.

    My Canadian Type E ..;)
This is an earlier Canadian E Type model that was made by the Repeater Razor Company...The one you have is a later Eversharp model.... The later one is milder than the one I have here.. .There is no recorded Typology regarding Canadian Type E s as far as I know...The Canadian's only ever made the Type E Injectors...They did vary in terms of aggression though... ;)
    You have a later Type E Sir..:chores016:

Well.... I tried the G again today. Three passes on my right sideburn/cheek and just as many layers of skin. Crazy. I didn't bother going to the I1 since I was already "burned". Seriously, it doesn't feel like a normal nick or irritation.

Anyway, I finished up with the BB and Astra SS(2) for a nice recovery. I'll revisit with the I1 in a few days when everything is back to normal on my face.

The biggest problem that folks have with Injectors is to do too much with them..They are not DEs and they just need to be placed flat against the face and then drop the handle a tad until you feel the blade cutting...That's it...If you try and over work them you will get problems..Let the blade do the work without pressing down..;)
Its a case of Less is more...:chores016:

Hmmm... Looking back I may have had to steep an angle of attack. I did notice there is a lot of blade exposure compared to my DEs.

Just a quick post. Used a Gem Pushbutton today.
Cool mechanism idea with the pushbutton, loads easily.

    Gem Pushbutton.JPG

1st pass - Mild razor. Minor blade feedback, so-so reduction on XTG pass.
2nd pass - Reduced the remaining stubble to rubble as I hoped on ATG pass. Audible feedback was just right, no tugging.

    Clean, close, comfortable shave.

I’m zipping through some of these razors as I’m going to the Seattle Shave Convention tomorrow and wanted to have a few for potential trades.

    Enjoy your weekend,
    Cheers!
