Is it the camera or does that blade really have that super cool pattern on it. Not seen anything like it. A very cool razor.

Blade is made of Damascus Steel—"...steel made with a wavy surface pattern produced by hammer-welding strips of steel and iron followed by repeated heating and forging, used chiefly for knife and sword blades. Such items were often marketed, but not necessarily made, in Damascus during the medieval period."

    FRIDAY
Smooth shave this morning using this Japanese Western-style (J-West) straight razor.
The razor needed some restoration work so although this my second shave using this razor, it is the first since refinishing both the scales and blade.
Very nimble, keen razor that is really a pleasure to use.
    Have a great Friday, all!

9/18/2015 Single Edge September! Frozen Friday!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra Classic, Wade & Butcher Bow straight razor
    Blade: Feather Professional (10)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Chiseled Face - Cryogen
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Midnight In Paris

It is Frozen Friday! The #6 brush did a good job whipping the Cryogen into a nice and freezing lather. The Cobra and the W&B did a great job removing the stubble. The Osage Rub and the Midnight In Paris were a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave +.

    Have a blessed day!

Thanks Guy! The same thing happened to me on the first release of the Beehive. You have to type in all your info and keep your fingers crossed. The Varlet Knots are incredible.

Had Paul Revere not told the Minuteman the British were coming, you'd have had to choose a different injector from Shick.

This shave felt very......classic, for lack of a better word. I was thinking of Henry Fonda, John Ryan, Glen Ford, Carey Grant, Eisenhower even ran thru my mind. So, black & white
Mitchell's Wool Fat soap, bowl lathered with my Rooney 1/3 Ebony/Best. Three passes with my father's Schick Krona loaded with a NOS Schick Stainless Krona Edge (5)
Smooth and touchable finish called for Fine American Blend.
