Wholly Kaw makes some good products. The soap makes a great lather, and the aftershaves are nice as well.

Thanks. Its a shame he's not making brushes anymore as they are a fantastic brush for the price. This brush was sold having a Manchurian knot.

Today was the last day with the Gem G-bar and I'm running out of things to say about it. It is a consistent shaver giving me very nice two pass DFS's with just a little cleanup. I'm not sure I will ever get BBS but I'm happy with the shaves I'm getting.

Haven't posted my SOTD yet this week, it's about time I catch up.

My shaves on Monday, Tuesday and today, Friday consisted of my trusted Feather hardware, my synthetic Guinea Pig shave brush from Nightdivers, Jack Back shave cream and Tüff sensitiv after shave.

My shaves on Wednesday and Thursday were the same in most aspects except the hardware - I used my Gillette cartridge razor.

image.jpg Razor: Gillette Ball End Tech NDC (declared 1947) Birth Year
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream/Soap: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1973 glass cologne Stopper #4
The Castle whipped up nicely with the Silvertip. The Gillette Tech is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm and then some Old Spice original Shulton from 1973? The Spice is nice!

It was an ok shave, because I used a vintage shaving cream and it had lost its protectiveness in time, but made a sufficient lather and it was slickly. I love the smell of this shaving cream. Although its expiry date is long gone, it has a strong fresh unique scent. Fax shaving creams used to be produced by evyap (known mostly aka Arko).

I would recommend samples. They last a while cause it is a dense soap. The Fougere Bouquet is my favorite. A unique sweet scent unlike any other fougere I have come across.

I wanted to follow up my today's SOTD with some personal feedback. Today was my first shave with my Vintage Williams Project.
    http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/the-vintage-williams-project.45842/page-2#post-894306
I chronicled it at the above link.
I have a fairly small soap vessel, so I chose my Simpson M6. Even though there was 50% more water added during the process, most of which has since dried up, I did bloom the puck while showering. The added menthol (5g:130g soap) proved to be worthy of our friend Crackstar. I would have to say that it eclipses every menthol soap I have ever tried. Boom!
I was initially skeptical that all of the added water would prove damaging to the soap, however, the lather was typical Vintage Williams, magnificent. Why they ever messed with this recipe I will never know.
My personal feelings are that this is a good way to stretch a puck of Williams, but be aware that you are not going to have 2 times as much soap. After drying out, you may end up with 30-40% more volume. Naturally YMMV.
