As I said, this was going to be an intensely-cold shave and that's exactly how it turned out to be. The Glacial Obsidian soap frozemy face off right from the word "go" and the matching balm, together with the Rubby Dubby Doo froze me even more. BBS again and it was so pleasurable! :)

First shave with a shavette. Overall an remarkably close shave. A couple of weepers, but no major blood was shed. I think I am going to like SR shaving.

Your description of the Fitjar soap really makes me want to give it a try...not. ;)

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
    Soap: Country Club-La Habana
Razor: Gillette Pre-War Fat Handle Tech (Triangle Slots)

CC La Habana today. 20 seconds to load the Thater Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. I loaded a “Spoiler” SS in the FH Tech. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with CC Southern Oud.

ok I can see why they would call it a fougere, it is lightly floral and has a marine note to it. I used Speed Stick for years before switching to the crystal.

I tried an experiment today: I have the excellent Maggard's Limes and Bergamot soap, and I added small samples of Reef Point Sublime and Cold River Soap Works Citrus to the tub. The three played very well together. The scent was a strong fresh one, and the lather was optimal.
The Fatboy glided effortlessly, decimating my stubble in the process. Shea Moisture balm wrapped up things right.

    Mongoose with Dr. Bomber handle
    Feather Super Professional blade (7)
    Shavemac two-band silvertip brush
    TSD unscented soap and glycerin
    Three passes
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

I completed my first week of shaves using the Feather Super Pro blade in the Mongoose. The blade edge seems to smooth out on shaves 2 through 4. From there, blade performance seemed to degrade slightly. Overall, it's a good blade in the Mongoose, but it takes extra care for me to avoid nicks and weepers. I have a new Super Pro loaded for tomorrow morning.

This was also my first week using the TSD soap stick, and it performs well. It's very easy on the skin, and the unscented lanolin formula has a slight nutty smell, which I like. Overall, a thumbs up!

My beautiful Bride and I have theater tickets for today, and then we'll enjoy a nice dinner together. I hope you all have as much fun as me on this fine Saturday!
