    I'm thinking of buying the Snake Bite aftershave. I hear a lot of good reports about it! :)

    Jeff, if you enjoy the chill of menthol (I'm guessing you do! :D ), you'll definitely enjoy the stuff! Alcohol & menthol…thats about it. Subtle fragrance, but eye-opening impact!
    I've really developed a liking for ending my shaves with it.
    I'm due to order some more!

    Here one review I found, spot on: "The burn is a good burn, and it's only momentary. Don't let the burn part scare you away. However, there is enough menthol in this to make your eyes water, even if you don't get any in your eyes. That only last a few moments, however. The cooling effect lasts about 15 to 20 minutes!"

    I'll be using...
    Homade PSO;
    Jr#14- The Barrel w/VS best badger;
    Caties Bubbles-Irish whiskey;
    '49 Aristocrat w/Feather blade;
    Alum block; witch hazel w/EO added;
    Polo Red...
    after my grandson completes his Mr Bubbles/plastic razor "closest shave ever" and I can get him out of the tub. It's our regular Rest Day routine. He will choose either Skin Bracer or Aqua Velva. They're his favorites.

    image.jpg Razor: Gillette 195 Fat Boy (f1) 1960 (5) (3)
    Brush: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Boar
    Mug: Old Spice (early glass Mug 01) 1947 first glass mug Birth Year
    Cream: Cella
    Blade: Feather (1)
    Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, OS Shulton Lantern 1973-75

    Whipped up the Cella with no problem with the OS Boar. The Boar is stiff with a lot of backbone which is great making lather but it feels like I'm using a broom on my face. The tips are softer than I anticipated, but not as nice as my VDH Badger, which I would put at the bottom of the list of my Badgers. Actually if it weren't for the fact that it is an Old Spice cobalt blue brush I would have never picket it up. I'm Just an OS junkie. My FB never disappoints, and on 5 for WTG, and XTG on my face and neck is great with the Feather blade. Switch to 3 for ATG on my neck for a BBS. The WH felt good, followed after it dried with some Jack and after cleanup some of that great OS. Y'all have a good one!

    gee thanks Doug :-(.....but seriously, that seems to be the way it is for many of us..humid summers and potential blizzards in the winter. I'm slowly getting ready to go somewhere where the weather BORES me yearround.

    Just think, Kevin..you have talked me into seriously considering 2 after-shave products-Wm(Bill)Neumann, and Fine. I'd heard of both before coming on here, but your commentary has helped a lot.

    Sunday morning is shaping up this way:

    Stirling Pre-Shave Soap :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Personna day 7
    Nivea Sensitive SC
    Nivea Sensitive Cooling AS Balm
    Max Disinfecting AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Drakkar Noir EdT

    Once again you guys are not imagining things - there are NO menthol products in this shave. This week I finally had the courage to buy the Nivea Sensitive cream and the matching balm. I test-lathered the cream earlier and it seems to perform quite well. It lathers very easily, and it seems to be very soothing. I'm not a fan of the scent, but that's no big deal - at least not now. The matching balm has about the same scent with a lot of moisturizing, but I don't feel any cooling effect from it. The Max Disinfecting aftershave is from Bulgaria smells really nice and feels great. ;) :D

    Now if only I'd get a kick-back from those companies, all would be peachy! :D

    and by the way, those two aftershaves are distinctly different!
    One is a soothing woodsy balm; the other a frigid burning smack in the face! :eek:

    That's exactly what my Rise AS is....a cooling balm. (but not Sensitive).
