  3. Yeah, that would account for your somewhat Rough Ride there Sir....Flat against the Face & Drop the Handle a Tad and just Trust what you are doing and you're next experience should be smoother...The blade will take care of the Whiskers....:p

I think the Schick Grip and the Hydro Magic I2 are tied for first place in my book. The Grip gives me a longer lasting shave. The HM gives a hair more comfort. Both are incredibly easy to maneuver. It's a toss up really!
  5. Hey Billy, I have a J1 that I put against my cheek at an angle that is so natural it`s uncanny, I don`t have to move up, down or sideways and my elbow is in the most comfortable position all the way through the shave. Two passes and a little clean-up. DONE! Like and respect your advice to those who may be new to injectors.

    Best wishes, Bill

  6. I couldn't have put that better Sir....The elbow is doing the work....The hand is movement is an end movement in terms of cause & effect....In other words the hand does nothing..;)

Found today in a thift store. I couldn't find anything on the net regarding "sample" razor kits and hoped maybe one of the Schick Guru's might chime in.
  9. Looks like a "L". Good catch.

  10. Not sure if this is the case for this particular razor, but the razor manufacturers used to give out kits like this to incoming freshmen at colleges hoping to instill a brand loyalty. They were also handed out during spring break at the more popular destinations.
  11. Thanks for the info. For $5 It was a pretty cool find.
  12. In a way your right, the hand does very little. But it does one thing that's very important, it holds the razor "STEADY" I have experience with "essential tremors" and with medication, I do pretty well. That`s where my beautiful J1 shines like a new silver dollar. So easy, like falling off a log.

With respect to a fellow wet shave enthusiast, best wishes, Bill

  13. Yeah that's the correct box Sir...That particular box came out a Can and was a free sample razor as you say...I think that is an L 1 injector .....Just the can that is missing as they are common place without the Can......;)

  15. I will be going back to my trusty Schick J after experiencing some irritation the last couple days. My type J is the only razor I have with me on vacation not sporting a Plus Platinum blade.

  16. Thanks once again for the information. It is an L1 that didnt see much use.

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
    Ladies Eversharp K 3 Injector
NOS Schick Krona injector blade x 5
    Semogue Boar Brush
Palmolive Shaving Cream (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
LOGONA Man Aftershave Balm (From Germany

I used to be a sort an older injector snob and how stupid the Ego can be sometimes....The Ladies Eversharp has the Hydro Magic Function...I cant believe how comfortable and efficient the Type K 3 Injector is with an NOS Schick Krona Blade....I have two of these that I bought together ...I have never seen them before or after I purchased these...These are the short handled version of the more common Type K 2...;)

  19. Very nice GD, you did it, you made me sin(envy). I have but two injectors, a personna with floating head and the most beautiful little Schick J1.The personna tends to cause weepers(not bad) but my darling J1 is, for me at least, the perfect shaving instrument. The last few days , I`ve been trying out a new handle I got for one of my de razors, also comparing to my injectors. I have one more combo to try tomorrow, then I`ll be so happy to get back to my regular routine, J1 time. I really enjoy communicating with wet shave enthusiasts. The old saying..." If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it", so I may just stick with what works best. GD have a nice weekend, what`s left of it and God Speed...... With respect, Bill

I'm staying with my trusty type J with a Chick blade again tomorrow. This combo provides a great irritation free shave every time. Im afraid the Plus platinum blades cause too much irritation, similar to what Feather blades in a DE do to me.
