    Gillette President
    Personna SS

    Aqua Velva

The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Bethleham Olivewood Silvertip brush. Two passes with my Gillette President razor and a Personna SS blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Oh, I know they're different..maybe I'll rotate Mennen Skin Bracer and Fine in the summer, and try Bill Neumann in the fall(rotating that with a Bay Rum).

How does that Glacial compare to Osage?

I don't know. I've never tried Osage. This one has a good menthol feel that lasts for a while.

It's probably more like Skin-Bracer then.

    Prep: Shower
    Razor: Gillette Old Type
    Blade: Super-Max Platinum (2)
    Brush: Omega 10083
Super Lather: TOBS Sandalwood Shave Cream/Proraso Green tube
Post: Cold rinse, Witch Hazel Cucumber

Very nice combo from 2 great products. The sandalwood overpowered the scent from the green proraso but gave me that nice chill.

I always heard that the Fatip was aggressive. I did not find it that way at all, very comfortable to me.

Today was the day of the Seattle Shave Con....so I didn't shave this morning, although the night before's shave was so close I didn't really need to...But I didn't want to shave this morning because, if by chance I traded for or scored something, anything, I would want immediate gratification this evening...

Boom! It brings me Great Pleasure, to present to you, Tonight's Shave...

    Hot Whisker Rinse
Arko Shave Stick (lather bomb!)(thanks Ru)
Omega 10029 mini-pro boar (big lather in a small package)
Schick C3 Repeater (thanks Rufus T)
    Longs Drugs/Personna SS coated d1
    Witch Hazel splash
    Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla

Today's Shave was one of those life defining moments....or should I say, 'Shaving Life' defining moments...You know, like when you first made a good lather....or first discovered DE's or Injectors or SE's....Well I've always wanted a Schick Repeater since I was digging my Dads Schick when I was a kid, and he told me, when he was a kid the Schicks had the injector right in the handle like a 45 Automatic. After that, the Schick Repeaters were the epitome of cool for me. But todays shave was the first time I've actually shaved with one...and unbelievable! I can't believe, after all these years of building these up in my head, I wasn't disappointed. In fact, it was better than I expected...one of those, "Best shaves of your life" type shaves...

Also, todays shave was made special by the fact that I haven't had an Arko Shave in over a year, and man, I've seriously missed it....Arko shave sticks would be my Desert Island soap....

So everything came together in a most appealing way, to afford me this fantastic 2 pass and touch up BBS...

I think this just might be my favorite set-up...

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Lather: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, RazoRock One-X AS splash
    Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette

I had a couple of days' growth to tackle, and decided the One-X was the right tool for the job. Great lather, if marginally less copious than it has been some days, made the Bolzano glide effortlessly. DFS+ results without any problems.

Mastro Livi Grifetto, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

It is always a pleasure to shave with Mastro Livi Grifetto - a 6/8 stainless steel straight razor - a super performing shaver always giving an incredible super smooth shave. In this period I am also experimenting with Bay Rum aftershaves quite a lot and I am trying to use as much as I can in order to compare them with my newest Bay Rum batch and see how they perform in regard to the one I make. I also used one of the very best Italian shaving soaps - Vitos "Rosso" (Red) - a tallow based shaving soap providing a very good slickness with its creamy, fatty and rich lather. I liked this shave quite a lot and, I must say, Mastro Livi Grifetto rocks!
    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Vitos Rosso (Red)
    • Brush: Omega Bristle 80266
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi Grifetto, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extravirgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Very nice shave but I definitely missed freezing my kisser off. The Nivea Sensitive cream performed very, very well and so did the matching balm. The Max Disinfecting aftershave left my skin feeling comfortable. Tomorrow I'll be returning to the menthol stuff big-time!

    SUNDAY
Early morning shave today, using one of my favorite 'old reliables'—the custom 7/8" Wostenholm.
I have never had a 'bad' shave with this large razor, nor drawn any blood in the many shaves I've had using it. Great way to start a lovely Sunday!
    Have a blessed one, gentlemen!
