Menthol Monday SEptember 21, 2015 B-3 Mongoose with UFO Titan Fine XL Feather Pro Super #2 Rubberset 400 # 4 TGN High Mountain White @clint64 Sterling Soap Co. Glacial Obsidian Alum, Sterling Black Ice Witch Hazel, Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter Krampert’s Frostbite Aftershave My second shave with a Feather Pro Super was another extremely close shave, perhaps closer than necessary for weekday shaves. The Mongoose is more aggressive with the Pro Super blade. I’ll switch to the Feather Pro for Wednesday’s shave and save the Pro Super for weekend shaves. Mr. Frost was here today. Sterling’s Glacial Osidian was a face freezing, eye watering experience. This is not a Girly Man’s shave soap, according to Freeze. The latest, number 8, @clint64 400 Restore with a TGN HMW churned the Black Ice Soap into a dark cold lather. I really love the added chill of the Black Ice Witch Hazel. Finished today’s shave with a generous spritz of Krampert’s Frostbite Aftershave. May the chill be with you!
September 21 (second SE shave) and Menthol Monday shave Razor -- Schick G Injector Blade -- Schick (China) Brush -- VDH Boar Soap -- Stirling Lemon Chill Post -- Cold water splash, WH, TSD ISZ Today was only my second day using my Schick Injector type G1 I believe. Taking some getting used to switching from a L6 DE razor to the G. But as long as I hold the angle and remember no pressure (boy these things are very light) I seem to do ok. Good shave today and love the chill from the Stirling Soap and the TSD ISZ!

Had a bit of a rushed morning so grabbed a razor I knew would perform well - and if needed I could get away with just one pass (which I ended up doing). Really, really like the 'goose.
September 21, 2015 Single-Edge SEptember So far this month I've shaved with a variety of Schick injectors for the first time (Type C1, C3, E, G, I and J), a PAL Adjustable injector and a few Gems (1912, Featherweight and Pushbutton). Still working my Gem SEs, with today’s shave using a 1941 Gem (Micromatic) "Clog Pruf” with a Gem PTFE blade. I’m on my 4th shave with the blade, don’t know have many more I can get from it? Will it be affected by what I’ve heard is a more aggressive razor? Two-day stubble, means three pass shave. 1st pass - Definitely feels like a more aggressive razor just based on significant blade feedback, passable reduction on WTG pass. 2nd pass - XTG pass reduced most of the remaining stubble to what is normally left prior to my last pass. Audible feedback was still significant but no tugging. 3rd pass - ATG had beyond the usual amount of feedback I’ve gotten from the other Gems in the ATG pass. Resulted in a very nice shave, mostly clean and no irritation. Will try a new blade tomorrow to compare the shave quality. Cheers! RT
These things are personal of course, but these blades are so cheap sometimes I bin them after the first shave...Depending on what razor I use them with...On that particular razor you are referring to I would concur with you're own finding's and dump it after 3 to 4 shaves Sir.... Billy....

9/22/2015 Single Edge September / Tobacco Tuesday! Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Kamphe Bros. Lather Catcher, Imperial Razor Barbers Favorite straight razor Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE (2) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: RazoRock - Tobacco #1 After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Musk after shave Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense It is Tobacco Tuesday! The #6 brush did a good job whipping the Tobacco #1 into a nice lather. The Lather Catcher paired with the GEM blade and the Barbers Favorite knocked down the stubble with ease. The AV and the Prada were a great finish for this Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
Dove Men Face Wash Williams Mug Shaving Soap Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip Schick M2 Adjustable Personna SS Injector CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Florida Water The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Schick M2 Adjustable Injector razor and a Personna SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Florida Water as an after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
September 22, 2015 Single-Edge September So far this month I've shaved with a variety of Schick injectors for the first time (Type C1, C3, E, G, I and J), a PAL Adjustable injector and a few Gems (1912, Featherweight and Pushbutton). Today is my second shave using a 1941 Gem (Micromatic) "Clog Pruf” but put in a new Gem PTFE blade after about 4 uses. Two-pass shave. 1st pass - Definitely the most aggressive Gem I've used so far. I got good blade feedback and good reduction on the XTG pass. However, I was not working it well around my goatee. 2nd pass - ATG gave a large amount of feedback, similar to what I’ve gotten from the other Gems in the ATG pass. Resulted in a very nice shave, mostly clean and smooth with no irritation, except... I finally had one of those shaves that eventually each of us experience at least once, where the little voice in your head whispers - "Walk away." It started on the first pass, working around the goatee, I knew I wasn't getting it right. Angle, approach, direction, everything seemed, well, awkward. A couple of weepers on first pass. Then came the second pass, clean and smooth around the rest of the face, yet the whisper continued as I struggled again to get it right around the chin, mouth and goatee - nick - "Walk away"...weeper - "Walk away"...cut - "WALK AWAY"...nick - "NOW, YOU OBSTINATE FOOL!" No witch hazel or alum could stem the damage. "What happened to you!" gasped SWMBO as she saw dangles of TP pasted to my face like billets on a telephone pole. Lesson learned - ditch the ego, - Walk away! Better shaves ahead! Cheers! RT
September 21 (third SE shave) Razor -- Schick G Injector Blade -- Schick (China) Brush -- VDH Boar Soap -- Stirling Gin and Tonic Post -- Cold water splash, WH, TSD Bourbon Vanilla Paid careful attention to the angles and the pressure and ended with less irritation. Good shave today in a 2 pass shave, but hopefully the razor can do much better. Tomorrow I plan to change my attack. I am going to go to a 3 pass shave instead of 2 and see if that improves the smoothness of the resulting shave. Normally I do WTG on face, XTG on chin and neck for first pass and then ATG everywhere on second, but have not had the best success on the chin and jaw line. So switching to WTG then XTG then ATG everywhere to see how it works out and hopefully will have less irritation. Have a good day and Happy Shaving!
Less is more with an injector Sir...Flat against the face and drop the handle a tad...That's it...Let the blade to the work...Injectors are so simple to use that a lot of folks feel that they need to do more....Have a good one Sir... Billy....
It is exactly what I am finding out and what I have to keep reminding myself about. Let it do the work, no pressure no matter how light it feels! Have a good one too Billy!
