09/23/2015 Razor – Mongoose B2 with Triad SS Helix Blade – Feather Super Pro (8) Brush – Rubberset 400 #3 with WSP HWM Lather – B&M Latha Post - Witch Hazel and Captain’s Choice Bay Rum Another fantastic 2 pass with touch ups near BBS shave this morning. Used the Latha again this morning. Since I am nearing the bottom of this soap, I plan on using it more often just to get done and thin the inventory. Finished with a splash of CC Bay Rum with menthol crystals added. Nice cool finish to a great shave. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
SEptember Focus Day 22: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Port-au-Prince SS Injector Type G Stirling Unscented PSB Fine Fresh Vetiver Unlike Crazy Ivan, I don't listen to the voices in my head. They were there again telling me to put down the razor. But, in another example of doing the same thing yet expecting different results, I kept hacking away at my neck. I am pretty smooth, but definitely irritated. Sometimes I just have learn the hard way. The Stirling Port-au-Prince SS was wonderful this morning. I think it was possibly the best lather I have ever gotten. Slick, thick, and yogurt like. I like how it goes with the Fine Fresh Vetiver as well.
SOTD September 23, 2015 Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Energizing Face Wash Boost Razor: Gillette British Rocket Blade: Personna Lab Blue Lather: Dusy Kabinett Brush: Omega 10098 Post: Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Capri Superb shave. The Gillette British Rocket is a favorite of mine of the Gillette's. I get really close shaves from the Rocket. Irritation free, Nick free. Dusy Kabinett is fresh and lovely, a nice subtle rose scent. The Omega 10998 continues to impress me with the way it performs. Never let the things you WANT Make you forget the things you HAVE
Hopefully you will have relief soon! I just want to note that this is some serious dedication! Glad you were able to get your daily therapy/shave in even with the knee!
My wife is amazing! She set up a folding table, bowl with hot water, mirror and towels. I couldn't stand long enough to shave in front of a mirror, plus I need a head shave.
Chris, it's very difficult to get around for me. I didn't sleep good, I couldn't extended my leg out, I'm walking very tender. I'm worried it's going to buckle again.
Do you have an appointment to see orthopedics? I surely pray that this is not a major injury. Sounds like you need a large pizza and a bunch of spaghetti westerns on dvd....take it easy on a Wednesday!
In weird and related news, early this morning, I got a text and a call from my father. Late yesterday his sister (my aunt) wash washing off her deck at home in Georgia. Somehow, she managed to slip and fall and shatter her femur so badly that the surgeons are putting it back together with titanium rods and screws ...they're still working on her. It's so crazy how bad people can get hurt doing routine things.
Jay Leno did a bit when he was receiving the Mark Twain prize. He said : I'm 64 now and find I don't bounce back like I used to. When I was 30 I crashed my motorcycle doing 80 miles an hour. 3 days later I walked out on stage like nothing happened. Last Thursday... I was sitting in the recliner...and I turned my head while I was yawning..my wife came running in to see what the screaming was about. I can't believe I tried to pull of such a difficult maneuver at my age. I was unable to turn my head for weeks.
I'm still waiting for my PCP to get back to me, I have two emails into him. What he has to do is refer me to an orthopedic surgeon, the same one I've been seeing for years
We never see it coming. I hope you can rest and maybe get some sleep. Constant pain is a true bummer.
I'm in bed right now, listening to the Pope on tv. I can get like 30 minutes at a time before I move my leg
September 23, 2015 Business trip 250 miles across the state, overnight in the Spokane, WA. I do this business travel often enough to need to put together a travel shave kit to just leave loaded in the car. Just starting to test one out: Soap: Arko (homemade travel stick) Brush: Vintage Rubberset travel brush Razor: Gillette Magazine Repeater Type C1 Blade: Schick Injector (China) (1) After Shave: Proraso Green Aftershave cream: Proraso Early start with a hot morning shower, two-pass shave. 1st pass: Low-profile razor compared to the Gems I've been using lately. Quiet by comparison. Ok reduction XTG. 2nd pass: More feedback this way of course. Mostly clean on ATG. Avoided all the scar tissue around my mouth/goatee after yesterday's debacle so left a bit of stubble. I will need to spend more time with this and my travel kit choices in order to get as comfortable with them as I have other razors. A month rule would probably be best. Two shaves just ain't enough. Back to finishing with other SEs in the last days of SEptember.Looking forward to comparing my 1912 (favorite SE so far on the non-injector side) and the 1924 Shovelhead that I have not tried yet. Cheers! RT
Winner!!! Amazing - the guy can't even stand and he's shaving. I'm speechless (I know....hard to believe) Wait ! (Gasp! )Was it the Pope's miracle??!
