Thor's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Beeline Boar Lather: Godrej Lemon-Lime Fresh cream Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Bolzano Superinox (2) Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's witch hazel, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails AS splash Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes "Adequate" would be the word to sum up today's shave. The 41c pairs adequately with the Bolzano; the Beeline Boar made adequate lather paired with the Godrej. Nothing was exceptional, but nothing was bad about the shave. DFS results.
Razor: Gillette Old Type Open Comb Ball End NDC 1920s (from "The Weekender" by Metalfield kit) Brush: Rubberset 400 #3 WD 24/50 Silvertip (Jedi Lightsaber) Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Tommy Bahamas Martinique The Meca Root whipped up nicely with the Silvertip. The Gillette Old OC is a nice razor, but it is rather aggressive with my blade of choice, the Feather. I just have to be careful with this light razor, and use no pressure. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm. Finished with some Tommy Bahamas Martinique. Y'all have a good one!

Despite my late night after a whopping 28 hours of wakefulness I was up and alert at 4:30am. After a few hours of me time with a book I got the kids on their buses, took a short trip to the store and did a little house work before settling down for a shave. While I was out I snagged a bottle of Pinauld's clubman so that got set out today along with Palmolive Classic cream, my Semogue Boar brush, my Schick type G1 loaded with a Chinese Schick blade (shave 3) and, my Gem Micromatic Bullet Tip loaded with a carbon steel gem blade (shave 2). I started out much like every shave by filling my old spice mug with hot water and soaking my brush for 10min. Then I put a dab of the Palmolive cream on my cheeks and started lathering on my face. It was dry so I added water until it was near perfect. I then had to wipe it all off when there was a knock on the door. 30 min later I was able to start over but wasn't able to get the lather quite as perfect as it was before I was interrupted. I had 2 days worth of growth on my face so I picked up the Gem and very carefully completed the first pass WTG. I relathered, still disappointing, and used the Gem for a XTG pass. After a few seconds of feeling around on my face I did a quick little bit of ATG right under my nose to clean it up and called it quits with a DFS. Sorry Schick don't need you today. I rinsed off with cold water and braced myself for the clubman which. . . Barely tingled. Good thing it went so well because work just called and they need me to work a double from 3pm to 7am. I might be tired later but I smell great with a decent irritation free shave.

SHAVE OF THE DAY PREP: NOXEMA FACE WASH RAZOR: MAGGARD 18C BLADE: RAPIRA PLATINUM LUX (2ND SHAVE) BRUSH: FINE ANGEL HAIR SYNTHETIC SOAP: PALMOLIVE SHAVE STICK POST: STEPHANS ISLAND LIME A/S (mentholated) Had a decent 3 pass shave today. Was glad to see that the knot I had to reglue in this brush is holding in just fine. Haven't used the Palmolive in a while, it has a scent similar to Speick but different. I seem to have a hard time when using shave sticks, I run out of lather on the third pass. I know I have to load more soap in the first place, but I think I like loading off a puck better. Anyways, finished off with the Island Lime which is one of my favorite aftershaves. Hope everyone had a great shave and a great day!
Razor A: Valet Auto Strop Model "C" Razor B: Scimitar Bluebeards Revenge Blade A: Valet New Process Blade B: Feather (3) Brush: Orange and Black Handle- Made in Switzerland- Boar (I think???) Bowl: Yokohama Studio Cream: The Real Shave Company A/S: Fine L'Orange I found this brush in a second hand store today, and for $2.00 I couldn't pass it up. I think it is a Boar knot, however, when I used it tonight it seemed very soft to my face. Not like any other Boar brush I have, so school is out on that. Another excellent shave this evening. Perfect bowl for shave cream, deep with a wide mouth. Whipped up a good lather with this cream. Great way to start a Thursday night.
