I'm sure the caking was due to the wind factor. You don't normally have 10 to 20 mph winds to contend with when shaving. It was actually a little runny when I started believe it or not. Not sure why the shaves in the hotel room have been rougher than usual (probably YMMV) but it does to a nice job of lathering up easily and I see you've found a novel way to keep the open end covered - nice! :signs107:

I am surprized the 10 to 20 mph wind never blew the lather to the back of your head Sir....

actually that is an empty deodorant container and top. I then used the Arko wrapper and glued it around the outside!
(too much time on my hands I guess!)

Do you think it might be a water issue...One time in South-Side Turkey on the Agean Sea in a fantastic beach resort town called Bodrum, the hotel water had a little salt in it...Man, that was one time I had a hard time getting the Arko to lather....But most of the time I find the Arko to be a fool-proof latherer....Either bowl lathering or face lathering...Ive heard sometimes Hard Water or Soft Water complaints with different soaps...

Today I stretched my SEptember out to trying blades...I got an injector of the Chinese Schicks....I've tried these before but it was so long ago I can't make a subjective comparison sooo....

I put two in the magazine of my C3 and racked one into the shave head....Then I put one in my I2 Hydro-magic...
Right side I2, left side C3 repeater....well, thats the closest I've gotten with the I2...I could tell a noticable improvement...

With the repeater, I don't know...the difference wasn't as stand out noticable.....but I'll tell ya....The repeater is a stand out BBS machine! Whether with a new Personna or a Chinese Schick, this thing hates whiskers as much as my E2, only it's a much smoother shaver, irritation free...It's as smooth as the I2...

Now I need to check on what Fergie was saying about how much friendlier the E2 is with the new Schick blades over the new Personna....Next shave, Let Er Rip!! (Figuratively speaking)...

I just yesterday afternoon ordered a pack of each brand. The Schick are great in my G but now that I have a B and a C coming I felt like I needed to try more blades.

Atta Boy....looking forward to your results....This is important research we are doing here, and future generations shave quality depends on it....! Actually, all kiddin aside...these kind of trials do help all of us get better shaves....That does it....I'm ordering more blades too...:eatdrink047:

Have you ever used a Schick Repeater before?

Nope. The ones I have coming in are, an OC type B and a safety bar type C. I love my type G injector so I'm hoping the repeaters are as good or better. I practically stole them. Both of them were in a lot with a pack of original NOS blades that I will probably never use for $45.

Man, that safety bar C type is the C3..... I'm crazy for mine.....

Here is a video on taking one apart...I recommend to do that up front...You need the smallest eyeglass type slot screwdriver and a regular medium screwdriver...You take those two tiny screws at the bottom out. Then take the head off by removing one screw. Then bend those little tabs that the tiny screws were in out..Don't worry, they were made to bend out enough so you can push down on the neck that the head was attached to, and the whole works comes out the bottom...

Its really easy with the C type...I have no idea about the B...but the C is easy and if you plan on loading the magazine you will need to know. But if you are only going to load one blade in the magazine and rack it into the head and then load another one in the magazine and close it and shave. You will be cool, it never jams with racking the slide with one in the magazine...

Its made to hold 20 blades...thats like almost 6 months worth of blades...ha,ha...But the new blades are a little thinner that the original blades so they can jam up. But you just take it a part and the jammed blades just fall out...

Check it out though...the problem is...these things are so cool...You'll want to rack a new blade in everytime you use it...

I have a sensitive face so I can only get 3 shaves tops out of a blade. I'm excited to get them.

I'll be trying a Chick blade in both my type F and Type E today and will do a similar comparison. Thanks for the great idea:happy093:
Ive only ever tried those two razors with Schick Plus Platinum blades and both provided BBS with considerable irratation (almost like a sunburn feels).

WARS Classic Shaving Cream (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
    KORRES natural aftershave balm (Greece)

What a Darn fine shave Folks...I have come to the conclusion that this PAL injector is perhaps the most efficient in the world...I love my Schick injectors no bones about it...The Type F & Type D are almighty shavers for sure...But this thing just takes the Piss out of them...It takes the piss out of me as well...Every time that I use this thing it just blows me away at how smooth efficient and effortless it mows the whiskers in Silent Mode.....These appear to be quite controversial as some folks perceive them to be mild...All I can say to that is a bullet that hits you from a silenced weapon will kill you just as easy from a weapon that makes a Loud Bang...In other words a razor that offers very little in terms of audible feed back can be the most silently aggressive of them all...;)

Hail the Almighty PAL Injectomatic/Chick blade combo...:smiley respect:

The ARKO Extra Performance Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #18 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Schick M2 Adjustable Injector razor and a Personna SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Florida Water as an after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    September 25, 2015

In these waning days of SEptember I’ll be alternating between the 1912 and the 1924. I’ve tried each of them once and want to finish this month of SE shaves with a side-by-side comparison.

    Today it’s the 1912.
I’ll also be trying a new soap that was made for the 2015 Seattle Shave Convention last week:
"Flannel in the Rain" by Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements

    9-25 OSMug.JPG

    Two-pass shave.
Both passes were made with the razor cap flush with my beard, with short strokes. I find that the higher than normal feedback with this razor also helps remind me to use no pressure.

1st pass - good reduction on the XTG pass.
2nd pass - even more feedback with the ATG pass re-emphasizes a short, slow and no pressure stroke.

Six hours later my skin is still clean, smooth and with no irritation. I would not call the shaving process smooth as I can feel every hair that gets cut. The cut is a slice, not a tug, but I can’t say its a smooth slice.

"Flannel in the Rain” is a luxurious shave cream that does not require a heavy brush load in order to provide a ton of later for a two-pass shave.
Pleasant scent of the air after a spring rain!

Favorite part of this shave? Morning cuppa coffee in my (new to me) 1980’s vintage Old Spice mug - courtesy of @cmorris357 who took pity on me when I lost out on two of the very same mugs in the TSD Raffle in August. Who says whining doesn’t help?!! Thanks Chris!

    Cheers!
