I know that Schick, Don, and it is a smooth shaving, "mild" razor. You are not apt to take your face off. I know what you mean by "with care and caution" using the MMOC. Although a great razor you really have to be on your best behavior with it. I am currently using my Schick M set on 6 and getting great shaves. Thursday's Dove Men Face Wash Kiss My Face Cool Mint moisture shave Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip Schick M2 Adjustable Personna SS Injector CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Florida Water The Kiss My Face Cool Mint moisture shave face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #1 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Schick M2 Adjustable Injector razor and a Personna SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Florida Water as an after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Thursday, September 24, 2015 B-3 Satin Mongoose with UFO Titan Fine XL Feather Pro #1 Wolf Whiskers Amber TGN High Mountain White Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber Alum, Dickinson’s ++Menthol, Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter Chiseled Face Aftershave Ghost Town Barber Todays shave was an outstanding 2 pass BBS. TGN's High Mountain White, some say is their best knot. Soft tips, covers a large area with great backbone, generates lather quickly, has excellent flow through and holds enough lather for multiple passes. Easy to lather Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber has slick cushioning and smells great. The Mongoose has become my go to razor. Finished my "Back Is Feeling Better Shave" with a bountiful spritz of Ghost Town Barber Aftershave. Hope yours was as good or better than mine!
September 24, 2015 Single-Edge SEptember So far this month I've shaved with a variety of Schick injectors for the first time (Type C1, C3, E, G, I and J), a PAL Adjustable injector and a few Gems (1912, Featherweight, Clog-Pruf and Pushbutton). Today it’s my first shave with the 1924 Ever Ready “Shovelhead." Two-pass shave. After the debacle with the Clog-Pruf I stayed with the razor's flat cap against my beard for the entire shave and just did minor work around the goatee as the wounds are still healing. 1st pass - Definitely an aggressive razor. I got significant blade feedback and very good reduction on the XTG pass. 2nd pass - ATG gave even more feedback. Very nice shave, mostly clean and smooth result with no irritation. I'll shave with it again on Friday and either take the weekend off from shaving or just let the goatee area alone for awhile. But the rest of the month will be alternating between the 1912 and the 1924. Cheers! RT
Day 24 - SEptember 2015 30 Days with a Schick G Day three of my soap trial, and this soap passes with flying colors. Slick, protective, and this scent is very nice. It will stay in my soap rotation. The blade is on day two and the automatic two pass smoothness was in effect. Alum was quiet, and finished with TSD ISZ AS and some Florida Water. Beautiful day for working outdoors on the prairie. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a fantastic Friday!
Sept 25, 2015 First shave with newly gifted Schick G. Thanks RT. Home made PSO WSP Rustic Shave- Vetiver Omega 81052 Schick G 1 pass ATG/ buffing Alum block, witch hazel, Florida Water, Queen Bee Apothecary Vetiver Emporium Solid lotion bar. The G surprised me. Got a great lather from the WSP.. dense, slick. But the G surprised me. Though it didn't feel so, it was more aggressive than the J type I used last shave. I sincerely thought I was getting the same kind of shave until I got ready to rinse ( warm then cold) and spotted the weeper along the area below my chin and along my throat ( I hate having a big Adams apple). When the alum block hit my skin I realized this is a different razor. I knew the shea butter solid lotion was getting used tonight. But I really like the razor. It will get used again next week. Now that I know. Thanks for the heads up, Vince or it could have been a disaster.
You're welcome DD! The potential seems great with that G, but you're right, it'll totally take you by surprise if you're not careful - like it did me! My type E is like that as well, so I'm going to work with the Type I that I have for awhile and get comfortable with injectors and then move on to the E. Enjoy!

Today was day two with my Ever Ready 1924 and I like this razor. This thing has quite a bit of blade exposure and has nice audible feedback. I think I have these Gem/Ever Ready razors figured out. Keep the cap touching the face and I get a consistently good two pass DFS with just a little touch up. These razors will definitely stay in my rotation. The 1924 in my experience works more efficiently with a shim like a lot of other older SEs.... Here's the link... http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...-query&usg=AFQjCNEDaXHpfqUc3iuxtGDULhmE4ZYxGA Billy....
9/25/2015 Single Edge September! Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Eversharp Schick Injector, Ace straight razor Blade: Personna Injector blade (1) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Proraso - Sandalwood After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense Happy Friday! The Proraso was whipped in to a nice lather by the #6 brush. The Schick and the Ace did an exceptional job knocking down the stubble this morning. The Nivea and the Prada were a fine finish to this Darn Near BBS shave. Have a blessed weekend!
Planned SEpt 25th This will be my fourth time using the F type this month and the first with a Chinese schick blade. Although I got the closest shave ever with this razor, I ended up with considerable irritation that Im hoping was from the Platinum Plus blade I had in it.
I'm really taking to the Personna Floating Head II injector. Another great shave. Only problem is that it's near impossible to take a 'sexy' photo of a plastic razor
September 25, 2015 In these waning days of SEptember I’ll be alternating between the 1912 and the 1924. I’ve tried each of them once and want to finish this month of SE shaves with a side-by-side comparison. Today it’s the 1912. I’ll also be trying a new soap that was made for the 2015 Seattle Shave Convention last week: "Flannel in the Rain" by Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Two-pass shave. Both passes were made with the razor cap flush with my beard, with short strokes. I find that the higher than normal feedback with this razor also helps remind me to use no pressure. 1st pass - good reduction on the XTG pass. 2nd pass - even more feedback with the ATG pass re-emphasizes a short, slow and no pressure stroke. Six hours later my skin is still clean, smooth and with no irritation. I would not call the shaving process smooth as I can feel every hair that gets cut. The cut is a slice, not a tug, but I can’t say its a smooth slice. "Flannel in the Rain” is a luxurious shave cream that does not require a heavy brush load in order to provide a ton of later for a two-pass shave. Pleasant scent of the air after a spring rain! Favorite part of this shave? Morning cuppa coffee in my (new to me) 1980’s vintage Old Spice mug - courtesy of @cmorris357 who took pity on me when I lost out on two of the very same mugs in the TSD Raffle in August. Who says whining doesn’t help?!! Thanks Chris! Cheers! RT
Personally, I don't think the razor detracts from the photo quality at all. The lighting gives it a navy tone that blends well into the shadows, much like the less-lit side of your mug. On the other hand, as SWMBO always reminds me - "Rufus, you've got a lot of class...and all of it low!"
