Finally back from a day trip to Pennsylvnia- 2 hours there & 3.5 hours back, thanks to an unexplained traffic jam. But the important thing is, that I came back with my new bow! My old bow (Clara) is now my 3D bow, having changed the sight & stabilizer. This bow is a high-end target bow. I named her Andromeda, because I read that it means "ruler of men", which is also (according to my husband) the definition of "Sara"
I wonder if that was the meaning of the Fleetwood Mac song-SARA. Anyway, I just switched my bed linens from summer to winter. Perhaps a bit too soon, but the nights are getting chillier.
Hmmmm....... an·drom·e·da anˈdrämidə/ noun an evergreen shrub of the heath family, typically with clusters of small bell-like flowers.
Actually, it's named for a galaxy far far away. Over 2.5 million light years far away, to be somewhat exact.
Happy weekend everyone! Gotta bit of grading to do this weekend . Well, that is a given every weekend of the school year.... labs and quizzes... Will be going in to school tomorrow for a STEAM workshop (Science, tech, engineering, art, and math) where I will do sessions on Edison robots. Then, I hope to have my Sunday open for NFL, flying quads, and avoiding laundry. And it is on a collision course with us!
But the galaxy was named for Andromeda, the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, who was rescued from the Kracken by Perseus with the help of Burgess Meredith.
Well, Friday was better than Thursday (well, duh...) Thursday started off with shaving off a mosquito bite behind my ear.. Then in 1st period I was demonstrating angular movement and how if you spin a golf ball on a string, and use the point where the string touches your hand as your reference point, the distance to the reference point stays constant. So from the string's point of view, the golf ball isn't moving. Well, that was the idea until I got distracted and swung the golf ball into my head. Kids were very entertained... Then in the evening at Maker's Hive meeting, the framework for a machine fell onto my leg. Yeah, Thursday was fun. But at least Friday was injury free. Now, off to go do a couple of classes on Edison.
Teally good shooting glasses may help with ducks, but they probably wouldn't help with shrubs. Maybe the yellow would be better.
