I had been out in the woods camping for some time and this was my first civilized shave upon returning (I managed a few shaves during the trip.) The E2 did not let me down! Is it me or is this thing magic? It fairly whispers to the whiskers and they fall away clean and smooth. My other razors have a lot to aspire to and may start getting lonely... :happy036:

    SATURDAY
Shaved with some heavy Sheffield steel this early Saturday morning. This 'near-wedge' Wostenholm feels a good deal heftier in the hand after a weeks worth of full-hollow ground razors.
Silent, but deadly. :D Über-keen edge and not a noise made as this big Wosty quietly slices through the stubble. Excellent shave!
    Have a wonderful Saturday, all!

The Personna lab blue is my favorite blade in my 48' Aristocrat. I totally agree on your assessment of the razor.

Today I loaded up the Futur with a Polsilver SI and used a brush I haven't used in a while. It's a small, short lofted boar that was gifted to me. Great face-lathering brush with lots of backbone and holds just enough lather for a 2-pass with touch-up which is all the Futur needs.

image.jpeg Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5) (3) (original case and blade pack with instructions)
Brush: Fuller Amber Badger 1920s -1940s
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill No 10
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS Frosted Glass 1960s
Whipped up the Truefitt&Hill No 10 in a minute with the Badger. Nice slick cushion and I really like the scent. The heavy handle and head gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure with a Feather blade set on 5. WTG and XTG on my face and neck. Then ATG set on 3. Very smooth. The Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera felt good on my face and that natural scent was nice and fresh. After cleanup, I smoothed on some Jack Black, and then some Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS from the 1960s. Out for a flight with my new toy! Y'all have a good one!

    The Crazy Ivan in SEptember!

Razor - '59 Ball End Tech
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko Stick
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Running out of SEptember fast and I have two more DE blades to try out, says Ivan. So let's get with it! First up is the Gillette Super Thin from Thailand. We already used the Vietnamese version with pretty good success so on to Thailand to see if there's any real difference. Both of these blades are pretty unique looking, going back to some vintage Gillette branding. Here is the Thai version.

I decided to grab the Arko stick today. I have only used the stick one time, many moons ago, and didn't like it. Didn't get a decent lather and felt like it was just a lot of work for nothing. However, I was an idiot back then and knew very little so let's see if a few months wisdom makes a difference. I had the puck ready in case. So, let the Pro 48 soak and then went over my face with the stick to coat it well and started lathering with the brush still very wet. Yep, I was an idiot back then. The lather just appeared out of nowhere and kept building. Very nice. Didn't want to stop working it. Ok, so now I see the appeal of the stick.

Got the blade loaded in the Tech and time to give it a shot. The first stroke felt a bit rough but that was the only one. Once the blade got that first one in it smoothed right out and really did a great first pass WTG. Nice reduction as well so I can't complain. Grabbed the brush and again the lather just appeared, so off to the XTG. Again, nice feedback but smooth and at the end I could have stopped with a nice DFS. Decided to go ATG, mostly to see what the Arko would do on a third lather from the brush. Not as much lather but still more than enough to get the job done. Went ATG then XTG on the neck with some slides to finish. Called it a very near BBS and was impressed. After taking some time and rechecking I'm going to go ahead and call it BBS! Really nice feel to the blade and great result. I think this blade may be a bit better than the one from Vietnam, but again it's proof that Gillette clearly calls the shots in how their blades are manufactured. Great shave for a Saturday off. Now, on to the final stages of getting ready for October's focus.

    ram57 Don't Open til Christmas

Been awhile since I used the 2011 R41 and had forgotten how aggressive this razor can be. Paired with the Kai blade, one pass with the grain was all I needed for a BBS shave on the face and neck but I did require touchup on the chin area. I expected some tingling when I reached for the Alum Bloc but fortunately none to be had. I love the aroma of the Select Vetiver and had forgotten I had this but when looking in one of my drawers for my Leatherman Tool came across the tin and just had to use it. With fall and winter upon us this will be getting some use.

Have a great day ladies and gents.

First use of the new soap and ,I think, first use of a tallow soap...maybe. Very nice easy lather from it. Took a little longer to build but came out nice. I do think I needed a little more water though.

The scent from it and the AS are nice and subtle, but noticeable. The vanilla cuts the tobacco nicely. The wife even approves.

Wilkinson Sword(3) blade in the Goodfella is working good.

Thanks I lucked out on this one. The knot is in great shape and works very well. All the restoration needed was a cleaning.
